[Preview] TUG: The Flexibility to be a Sandbox RPG We Want to Play

In every gamer’s life, there comes a time to take a look at the horizon and see what new and innovating things are in the works. I hit that point recently and began a search to see what could peek my interests. Was there really anything out there that had the potential for different in either its mechanics or its development? This search lead me to TUG (The Untitled Game) by Nerd Kingdom where I read this description and was instantly intrigued.

Nice writeup! Supported TUG in Kickstarter and am really pleased to see their progress, especially as compared to some other games that got a lot more funding.

i also funded these guys, the most innovative and different voxel title your gonna find. The community is amazingly active and kind. Even in alpha stages they have people releasing mods already (players) and the dev team actually responds and talks to us.

I urge everyone that sees this to seriously click some links and watch this title.

PvP survival, the game is dead before it even started.  When will fruitcake developers grasp the overwhelming fact that games like this die on the vine extremely fast.  If you can't take the time to figure out that rules sets like this have a very high failure rate then you should find something else to do instead of wasting everyone else's time and money.

this is just another one of the myriads of indie dev minecraft clones and variations. The better ones at least put a real spin on their games like 7 days to die or planet explorers. This one is just another pvp sandbox that will be dead even before it gets going. All these games devs think they know everything then when their games are pretty much dead from the start its always the communities fault or big triple A companies....instead of looking in the mirror.

Because you carebears cannot handle something it doesn't mean such concept does not translate to a successful product, both customer-base and cash wise. DayZ is merely a buggy piece of garbage, yet still its highly popular. And what's that game about? PvP survival.

Yeah.. thats right.. dead like Minecraft and DayZ, huh?

And you don't even have to play pvp survival.. set up your own server like you want, or just play creative mode. But as Minecraft and DayZ already proved some actually like a Survival game.

TUG is in very early development cycle, but it is actually very promising.. i am curious with what they will come up. It is somewhat like Landmark + EQN, just indy, without all the restrictions which invenitable will come. Though not everyone does like less or no restrictions, as some don't like Minecraft or DayZ, some won't like TUG, and will feel more comfortable with more restictive games, game design, and possiblilities(for the good and the bad).
