I originally on day one started a thread about this and after hundreds of comments and thousands of views Mike B here shut it down saying its auth charge WOW really you called verified with my credit card company it is?....now we seeing the light in that their tricky EULA snares folks into paying for the upcoming month or three months etc whatever plan you chose in advance!
Never in my 17 years of mmos seen this and that is why I made a big deal about it because it is not right its deceitful!
My AMEX card has told me many times this is not a hold this is a charge.
When I contacted Zenimax again today while this may be cute to some is a very annoying response to me(mind you I am going on 5 days no refund.)

Thank you for contacting The Elder Scrolls Online Team.
At this time I am going to send this issue up to the Mage's Guild. Once they have consulted their scrolls, a Mage will contact you as soon as possible to assist you with your issue.
You can find more information about The Elder Scrolls Online on ourwebsite and social channels (Facebook, Twitter, and Google+).

It's $15 and I'm sure you'll get the money back eventually.
Is there any point in throwing a big hissy fit over $15?
Yes it is I am disabled I plan my budget and on a limited income so to those that live with parents or can work nah prolly not. I have to pick and choose what I play and can afford therefore yes it is.
Now If I had known this was going to happen I would have planned for it. But the point is how they wove that into their clause and to be tricky and to my knowledge no other mmo has done that before them.
And that is why I feel it is very telling of who they are as a company(here for the money)
So you think its ok to hold your customers money hostage regardless of the amount got it.
Do you really think that Zenimax is holding their customers money hostage? Do you really think a bunch of people plotted to hold their customer's money hostage?
Do they look like Dr.Evil when you picture them in your mind?
I'll be the first to laugh at people complaining about $15, but I think you're missing the point. It's still a bit odd to me. It's not a publicly traded company so they don't have much to benefit quarterly profit wise, especially since Q2 just started. Perhaps this will be a new norm as more and more MMO's are also released on console. They slowly eased console gamers in to sub prices with frequent DLC over the past years, perhaps paying up front even before your free month is the new thing.
The more entertaining thing is that people who don't have a balance to cover the "auth check" on your account can't play until they do, regardless if they have payed for the game including their free month.
Please try to stay on topic.
OP: Unfortunately, you agreed to the EULA and don't have much ground to stand on should they decide to keep your money. Could still vote with your wallet on further purchases.

Really? I fought for my country and have become disabled because of that? So I cannot enjoy a game because your cleary have no clue and I am sorry you are ignorant ,young or both.
And I was explaining why I cannot afford being chrged so I am on topic
How witty. I would be willing to wager if this happened to you in a game/publisher you were critical of on these forums you would be lighting them up as much as any are here. And to make sure there is no confusion I was enjoying the game, I am not criticizing the game itself but the business side of it.
Except this didn't happen to everybody. It happened to a very vocal minority. I didn't have any money taken from me and most people who purchased ESO didn't as well.
Yet your missing the point wether I can or not it SHOULD NOT happen are ya stupid ?
If you are going to state what happened to majorities and minorities please post some stats to prove what you say as I hardley believe you know what did and didnt happen to every single person who purchased the game.
It shouldn't happen you're right but things can easily go wrong. Have you tried phoning up about the situation? Their support could be swamped in requests at release with silly issues (note I'm not saying this is a silly issue).
No, i don't think i am. I saw through the crap of this game and didn't buy it. Maybe you should take this as a learning experience and do more research on the games you want to put your precious $15 into.
What does this have to do with the thread topic?

Yes I did and I am glad I chose the call back option as it has been 5 hours now with no response and what is worse they didnt even send an email saying they received my ticket and will look into it (automated or not). But go report a gold spammer in game and you get a email within minutes saying they are looking into it. I guess gold spammers are more important than financial matters.
Well there are other people that play the game. We play together in these things people call guilds. If this problem was more common, then most people would be talking about it.
The fact is that nobody in any on the guilds I'm playing with are talking about it.
If you like I can log on and take a poll. Would that make you happy?
Wow you must have a big guild if it encompasses everyone who bought the game.

i think that maybe the post shouldn't be here.
