Hey, I have a question. How do you confirm that someone has a Grandmaster Pack in TSW? Are you working with Funcom on that?
Also, are the TSW outfits (Soldier ,Cybermage) only for one gender each? I suspect the hoodies to work on both genders.
And before I forget: Thanks for the game, great work I hope I will be able to contribute more in the future, the beta largely conflicted with my studying schdeule.
Thank you for the kind words! Now to answer your questions:
1- The Cyber-Mage dress is women only. The Black Watchmen Soldier uniform are unisex.
2- GM Lifetime account: you will receive by email from Funcom you ID and a direct link to the pledge. That email will come from Funcom indeed.
Also yay!
Hoping we can help make this another success for you, Anashel.
What type of pledge you would like to see? More virtual event, more in-games goodies, more real life items or more real-life events ?
I'd like to add my thanks for such a great beta ARG and I cant wait until the PARG starts up fully.
As for extra pledge options: More real life items and real world events would be great especially for those who can't afford to pledge the $5k or $20k for the current real world options.
I think RL Black Watchmen hoodies should have been a no brainer. Perhaps as a $40-$50 tier that also gives you a free in-game uniform choice or perhaps an in-game Black Watchmen title. People buy the We Love Fine stuff and this is perfectly in-line with that. Maybe raise the price more if this isn't enough of a donation.
Black Watchmen security cards would be another fun feelie.
As for ARG stuff... another donation option could be one where you will receive a vital information package containing an important clue to a big mission. Less involved than getting nabbed by the MIB but still more involved than sitting at a PC and doing research.
I guess you could add a whole lot of real life merchandise.
Boam mentioned hoodies or security cards. I think you could also add stuff like stickers, necklaces, bracelets, T-shirts...
Mind that, it could end up costing me a lot of money... -_-
I agree, I think we'd get more money if there were more pledge options. I wrote it in a survey too, but apparel would be nice to see. I'd especially like to second getting WeLoveFine to create hoodies and t-shirts. And something small such as a pin would also be fun to have and wouldn't cost too much. Art-wise, you could create a number of small art prints, provided the cost and time it'll take for the artist(s) would make it profitable.
When it comes to digital rewards, TSW titles such as "Agent LVL (colour)"?
EDIT: I've already pledged at the beta level, but perhaps you could create a "basic pledge" option geared towards those who want digital TSW items and one towards those who want physical items?
Alright I'm in!
Launch in a weeks time eh? Hold on to your seats boys...
1- Real hoddies: we didnt manage to strike a deal to get quality hoodies + shipping below 50$ - 60$ and we felt that at 100$ (since we need to get some money for the game, not just cover the hoodies cost) was a little too high.
That said, if I was able to guarantee and order of 100 or 1000, that's another ball game.
2- Security card, I can't believe I didn't think about it !!!! Of course!
3- Collectible card match also well with security card and concept of unlocking a hub and then working your way in to break the security and unlock the hub for everyone. As the first special ops troops to get in, you have indeed a physical reminder of the event. And if, let say 6 months later you pass by a lock with the same security card requirement, you'll snap back into game mode in less than 5 secondes... I like the concept of a powerfull momento that can actually trigger back memory and a specific state of mind 3 months laters.
4- What you described as having vital package required to start a mission, this is something that could happen in a Virtual Mission Pledge.
Pins are also a good idea. Thanks!
As for art, to give you a ball park they cost between 1k to 1.5k each to produce. (Wall paper, The Class, The Artefact, The Rupture site, etc...)
The shooting for the cyber-mage 6k and the trailers 1k. For the overall project + creating the beta arg we invested about 25k to 30k upfront.
I am not the best at these but it is one that I enjoy because it gets me out of my comfort zone. I will likely fail a lot but will greatly enjoy this. I don't pledge to many things but this is one of those I could not pass on. I am greatly enjoying the thought of this and possibly the only thing that will make me seriously consider upgrading to a smartphone.
I want to say thank you for doing this. I hope there is great support as this is something that I really like and hope I can keep up with. Thank you even if I don't become a gold member.
Actually tying them into the game would make them even better! It gives backers something tangible to hold, but it also gives agents an advantage if they can connect the dots. It might even be fun if using a card could be used to track you down...
And on the production side, they are cheap as hell to produce. Toss in a lanyerd an you're talking less than a couple bucks a unit.
I really like the idea of granting titles in TSW. Like, 'of the Black Watchmen', or 'Level Orange/Red/Yellow/etc'. Could be really neat little tie-in.
The security cards are a totally awesome idea, too. If someone loses one it shouldn't make that step impossible, but a way to work in security cards or even digital security fobs, like so...
...though -actually- using something like that might be prohibitively expensive.
Totally agree, they are really cheap. For security reason, we will never reveal the exact location (ie corner of a street like Uber) but we will activate maybe a 2 to 4 blocs area so you can still have the feeling of location-based without entering into the legal problem of being too specific. So activating a security card in a specific region could trigger something.
That's said, I am maybe too paranoid.. Four Square gave up your EXACT position since many years now...
@ Momentary:
200$ for a pack of 5: http://www.tokenguard.com/RSA-SecurID-SID700.asp
What we could do is print simple card (plastic card / .50$ to 1$) with a unique code on it. Combined with your companion app, then you turn it into a fully functional two-way authentication security card.
I am also extremely fascinated by the station number coding system. Two agent had the same pad. Each pad had individual page of number on it. The person who broadcast the code used the page to encode it. The person receiving the code use the same page to decode-it.
Then they ripped-off the page.
The encoding schema was unique for that transaction and the only person who could decode it needed the page. I like that notion of, in a single point in time, two person who didn't know each other exchanged critical information in a manners that only them will know, forever secure even if it was broadcasted on public band....
