A few days ago someone who always posts negative argumentive threads started one saying that the bank was bugged and when you buy the upgrade to 90 slots you lose all your bank mats. Can anyone sitting with 90 bank slots either confirm or deny this before I spend the 6800 gold to upgrade
Comments
So you have the 90 slot upgrade and everything is cool ? I don't want to lose my 7k gold and more importantly all my bank mats , it took awhile to save that up. These forums have turned into such a bash fest its hard to figure out whats what.
Aloha Mr Hand !
No you can't, because you're wrong.
Here is a community thread where people are reporting it:

Here is an official known issues thread. At the bottom of the original post:

Yes I can, because I'm not.
You'll notice that not everybody has the problem, and that it only affects a minority.
Therefore, in response to the original question of "Can anyone sitting with 90 bank slots either confirm or deny this before I spend the 6800 gold to upgrade" I answered correctly.
Yeah, I know it's a matter of semantics, but it pays to be accurate when posting publicly
Ok so there is a confirmed issue but it is FALSE that upgrading to 90 bank slots is what triggers it..... According to the official forums this a RANDOM bug that is affecting people with bank slots ranging from 60 -90. MY QUETION WAS does upgrading to the 90 bank slots trigger this.... Apparently the answer was no.
Aloha Mr Hand !
Yes ty, That's basically what I was asking, If going to 90 slots is what triggers it. Im currently at 80 and have to assume for whatever reason this bug hasn't affected me so its safe to go to 90 slots.
Aloha Mr Hand !
Actually, what you said was unhelpful, bordering on malicious, if you actually realized that enough people have that problem that it's an issue they bother to acknowledge.
Basically you were misleading somebody into believing that it is a non-issue and that it doesn't happen to people, when the whole point to them posting was that they wanted to check against the possibility of losing gold.
A more honest, and helpful answer would have been 'It hasn't happened to me, but it has happened to some people, and if you're that concerned, you can hold off since they're working on the problem'.
If the problem triggers anywhere between 60-90 slots, that means that there's a chance it will happen to you at 90. :P (Otherwise people would have said 'it happens at 60 slots')
If you're really concerned, I'd suggest holding off just a bit. Not having an extra 10 slots probably isn't going to kill you. But if you don't care about the risk, then go ahead.
No worries mate. Happy to help

Pretty offensively posed question imo. The person who posted the warning, imo, hasn't posted any "negative" arguments - harsh truths yes. And this is one of those harsh truths. Zenimax have a problem - possibly a serious problem
I think you should just upgrade. Others have done so without a problem. Then you can come on these forums and say "I upgraded so there is no problem, all these posts are from malicious haters". Of course you might not be OK but .... then you can become a malicious argumentative poster!
Did you read what you wrote? Holy shit. I'm glad you skipped an awful bug, but why the hell did you ask if you were just going to ignore the reality?
A RANDOM BUG THAT AFFECTS PEOPLE WITH BANK SLOTS RANGING FROM 60-90.
The answer is yes. In some cases people have had their stuff wiped. I'm glad yours wasn't though.
you took a gamble then, and you were lucky, it doesn't mean anything because Zenimax have admitted there is an issue and that their working on it, undoubtedly they will fix it, but for those not willing to take the gamble that it will work, waiting for Zenimax to give the all clear is probably the safer option, im sure once they have resolved the issue they will post that they have done so.
Of course. I mostly play on the NA server where I can easily understand the language in which my parentage is being brought into ridicule
I want to really thank you for posting this. I'm one of the people suffering from the constant, repeated crashes bug... and putting up with ZOS' absolutely crappy and useless customer service.
It's nice to see that others are suffering from the same problem (misery loves company) so the next time some fanboi or ZOS-paid shil tries to say (1) it's my machine; (2) it's my ports; (3) it's my AV; (4) it's my firewall; (5) it's my router; (6) it's my wife's fault, since of course it can't be Zenimax's fault; I can just point back at the known issues list.
It's rather insulting that Zenimax thinks a bunch of shils in forums and tap-dancing by CS reps is going to placate people. They need to quit insulting our intelligence. Most of the major problems we're seeing right now occurred AFTER their last patch. It's not people's machines (although it could be my wife...). Zenimax screwed up.
Damn amateurs.
OP, it is lucky that you did not suffer from this bug. If I am to face the same issue, I will hold the upgrade first until it is resolved. Even 1% chance of happening means it can still happen, especially when the bug is acknowledged and devs are looking into it. Only a player's IGNORANCE will think that it will never happen to him/her, regardless of whatever.
Meanwhile, there will be "players" who will bite tightly on this bug, until it is fixed, where they will bite the next big bug.
The possibility of the universe collapsing into a singularity is higher than the birth of a perfect MMORPG.
Zenimax should at least disable bank slot purchases and banking gold until they address this.
Here is the bug as detailed from personal experience and forum posts
1. Log onto a different character
2. Receive in game mail for your bonus items from preorder, imperial, and beta participation (beyond the first mail from your initial log on)
3. At that time, your shared bank will be reset to 60, and all banked gold will disappear
4. Your bank will reappear as empty, just log out and back in to regain your items.
5. Any items above the new 60 limit will go to character with open space in their inventory
You do not need to purchase bank slots for this to happen, just have more than one character created and log on to them both.
This can happen multiple times, I have 3 copies of the bonus items sitting in my inventory.
If you submit ticket, this will be the response, and they will close the ticket.
Greetings Adventurer!
Thank you for your report. We are investigating the issue with player banks losing items. We are confident at this time that no items have been lost, and that we will be able to return your belongings to you in a future patch.
I'd like to apologize for the inconvenience, please bear with us as we figure out the solution to this problem.
Thanks!
There was a bug in the original everquest when they first put in the 10 slot crafted bags. if you ate or drank from the bag, you drank the bag instead of the item inside.
I wonder if something similar might be happening...
I'd like to highlight this - if correct, this is not a random issue, but a very specific one. And it does matter whether a problem is very common or rare, as there are a huge number of people playing MMOs and its only worth avoiding core game mechanics if a problem is common.
My bank was at 80, and I lost crafting materials in all the extra 20 slots.

I'm playing on the EU server, and yesterday my bank reset itself from 70 slots to 60. The items in the "lost" slots appear to have been randomly distributed to my other character inventories. However, the roughly 1200g I had in the bank vanished completely afaik.
At the same time, I received duplicate emails containing all my Early Access and Imperial Edition rewards (I now have 2 sets of all the rewards). This duplicate email phenomenon seems to be part of the bank slot upgrade bug.
It's probably worth staying away from bank upgrades until this bug is resolved. Specially if you are an Early Access and/or Imperial Edition player (you paid more, so you get more bugs ! ).
