In a pathetic attempt at public relations, SOE has been trotting out the "Devs" on the boards. I wish I could reach through teh screen, and wring their stupid necks. Its called PRE-CU you morons. Perhaps if you just listened and did what you know you have to do, ie put classic servers up, you wouldn't have to make these insulting pet tricks. But oh no, you're gonna ride this wheelbarrow until the wheel falls off aren't you?
PRE-CU 4TW!
I will never stop pointing out the horrible ridiculousness of SOE. Bring it on holier than thous and fanbois

The mere fact that they dare show up all of a sudden as if they care is abominable. The only time they should be allowed to post is to apologize or announce the game is over.
/giggle
Of course they are showing up now, they are trying to listen to the community and participate and help save the game. I can only see that as a good thing, maybe they'll make a classic server just for you and other vets.

Whooooaaa, this is a HUGE mistake!!1111!!1
Listening to the community completely borked the game, resulting in the NGE! Remember the old phrase 'Be careful what you wish for'!
Idiots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111!!!!!!!111!

Oh, cruel fate, to be thusly boned. Ask not for whom the bone bones. It bones for thee.
NGE wasn't SOE's idea. LucasArts has already admitted to making the decision to go to that type of gameplay. SOE just implemented what the producer asked for. Granted they did a half assed job of it. But it wasn't exactly their fault that NGE happened.

Actually, the NGE was Jeff Freeman's brainchild -- and I believe he's a SOE employee, but I might be wrong. His blog was quite clear -- management (undoubtably LucasArts) sent down the line that the game needed more players. (Jeff used the phrase "The Man said 'What do we need to do to make the game more fun, to make it the funnest possible experience'" -- which means "We need more players"). Jeff ran to one of his lead developers, and they came up with the pseudo-FPS of the NGE.
They decided it was fun, and sold it to everyone in the decision chain -- constantly assuring them it was fun and could be done.
He's since deleted that blog entry, claiming it was misunderstood. I managed to get the ONLY reply from Jeff on his intro thread (I'm back on my 15 day free trial!) by posting the contents of that blog entry. He said people misunderstood by thinking it was "all his idea".
He's the Lead Game Play Designer -- he had to be on board for this. And back before the sheer scope of the discontent was known (before finger pointing and blame dodging started) he was quite clear -- LA might have mandated changes to increase sub numbers, but the actual CHANGES were Jeff's. His team came up with them, he pushed them, he got them live.
Normally I avoid trolling, but I'm pretty happy I pushed Jeff's buttons. He committed pretty much THE cardinal sin of a professional software developer -- he developed for himself, not for his customers. And to date, I don't think he's grasped how that's a mistake.

Whoever designed it, LucasArts seems quite proud of it
Lol, yeah it's called trying to make money. ^_^
