That's just a one use public/private key scheme. The public key being the page # (or book and page #) and the private being the code on the page. It works fine between two people, since you can be fairly sure they are using the same book (and thus have identical pages) but if between random people, say I encode a message with "Blue Book page 50", but the person I was trying to get the message to had already used their blue book page 50? If they had tossed out the page, it would be lost.
A better scheme for more utility, for secure transmission between two people, would be a cypher that chose the page (data-set) to use based on the sender and receiver names/identifiers, then generated a cypher from the code on that data-set. Or something.
Now, if you are talking about location-aware apps, it would be kind of neat to have a function where a message/etc could only be decoded within a certain geographic area.....
I think both RL and IG rewards for pledging would be rather cool. I do think the RL rewards might have a little more 'cost' to them, but could also bring in a larger selection of people.
Using IG branding for the Black Watchmen could work rather well, even with some of the existing cosmetics that's in TSW.
Originally posted by Robbgobb Got my Grandmaster code entered so now just have to decide if I will pledge more. Can't wait for this to start.
I just finished reading the threads .. I also JUST entered in my code from TSW for my account. I am with a lot of people here. I am not sure if I missed something ... but I'd refer you to the webpage "Kickstarter" who does tier based pledging. Is that the same here? If you pledge $5 here .. your name is in the credits. But when you go up to $10 do you get both the $10 and the $5 bene?
I also agree with more "Real Life" items and gear. But I am not sure I agree about the Security Faub idea. I bought one once for Star Wars ... moved to another state ... and it took a very very long time just to get it resolved so I could access the account. ... just sayin.
*Another thing for larger pledges could be .. " name a PC in game or even name a mission, a city, a street sign, a school "... et infinity. Sure, people will get creative and devs always have rights to have them "pick again" .. But that is also why you ask a higher price. not too high .. like most people I work for a living too
Also, I don't have an IPhone .. I don't know which version that case fits ( I may have missed where it stated it ). But that case is definitely cool! I re-up my device this August .. and may get an IPhone just so I can show off that case.
Is the App IPhone only friendly?
I will ask here too ... did my 1 year code start today (the day I entered it) or will it start when the game goes live?
Also, will you be offering Lifetime accounts. I get that these types of games may not last .. but I personally would truly opt for a lifetime 1x payment of $200.00 rather than the monthly rigmarole.
I think real life merchandise is a winner all around. Having an ID card for your level or "Division 33" would be freakin sweet.
I'm a big sucker for merch and would consider buying. But i understand its all about demand, you can't order 20,000 products and only 7,000 actually get ordered. Thats a huge cash dump, but I just hope you get the support and then we'll see what we can get.
Good idea for the lifetime sub, but rest assure, you wont be bother by a monthly sub. It's really a yearly sub. Base on the amount we raised, we can gauge the type of mission we can or can't do. What stunt we can afford...
As for app, it will be Iphone, Android and Tablet friendly.
Had I known what doors a lifetime account in TSW would open for me, I wouldn't have thought twice to buy it. I must admit that after TSW turning mostly F2P I was a little bit disappointed. But seeing this, getting the "TSW - Grand master pledge" has me hyped up all over again.
I was never the extraordinary puzzle solver. Always had to rely on the community. But it was fun nevertheless.
Looking forward to having a great experience with all of you!

Yeah I reached out to Wikibruce and argn but no news so far. We do are present on unfiction a little. But I was hoping Bruce will cover this one out. I'll try again today and see if I peak his interest now that we broke the 10k.
