whats the difference between free to play and subscrition I must be blind but cant find anything specific on this.

Also I subbed a way long time ago anyway decided to start up again and it looks like you choose builds instead of being able to create your own build did they get rid of deciding on your own?

F2P is just that, all content free (well most content anyways). Some mounts and other items are credits only.

Patron status gives you a bunch of extra bonuses and rewards. Not needed but helps leveling somewhat.

You can create your own at any time. Once in game you can change your souls to the three you want. Can buy a new role and keep changing them as you please.  Believe the "N" key takes you to the page and you can swap souls in and out.

Those soul builds are handled badly tbh, not the first time i see people ask about it, just click Cancel instead of choosing a build and you can create your own.

Patron status grants you % bonus to pretty much everything(exp, all currency), but thats about it,  I would even argue that exp bonus is negative bonus atleast past lvl 50, since expansion zones are incredible and you can already hit max lvl without doing half of the zones

Not to start new thread (and hoping Op will excuse me fot interfering).

I am thinking about going to Rift.  tried to read local wiki, but some questions were unanswered. Hence, need to ask Rift experts:

    1) is it possible to completely avoid PvP by going to some server or turning some option off?

    2)  what class too choose? My play style is much like Lotro's minstrel: ranged magic self-healing.

    3) does the race really matter? Role-playing aside (I'm not into it) - does it make any changes to it, like "you can't play dwarf Assassin" or "if you play Human Halberder, you get -50 Sword attack"?

    So it's Rift then :)

for 1) let's wait for others, I don't pvp so I don't know (but also it means I was able to avoid it just fine during my few months)

    3) I have toons on both sides, as I noticed race is not really important, and for "classes" it's irrelevant.

    2) that's the best part, in Rift there are no classes. I mean, yeah, there are the four callings, but those are just a wide category of a truckload of different playstyles. Under all four callings you can build your character into any role you want. For a mini-like healer maybe the Cleric is the most suited foundation, but you can heal with the others as well if you like.

The server Faeblight would probably be your best bet to avoid all pvp. Pretty healthy population too.
