small UI preview

Just a small preview of UI customization in LiF.  They did it right in this game...  everything in the UI can be moved where you want it, and resized how you want it.

Here is a quick pic of the default UI placement.  Big pink bar is health, big green bar is stamina, small empty bar is alignment, small (mostly) full bar is hunger, standard hotkey bar in the middle bottom, multi-tab chat window to the right bottom.  I think the doll icon shows wounds/health, but I haven't been beaten up yet.  There are also a few more UI windows that only pop up during use, but you can place those as well.

Here is a more customized version, with system and chat tabs broken into two windows:

I am really very excited about this game, the only element I think I will miss is the fantasy part but being in a medieval environment and looking for a way to survive is something I would like to try. I wonder how the PVE will be handle as there are not monsters to kill.

There won't be PVE in the classic sense.  There is a function for tracking wild animals.  You can build snares to capture creatures, and you will be able to hunt other normal creatures.  You can also domesticate and stable some of those creatures for farming purposes.

The main environmental concern I think will actually be preserving the environment vs. destroying it.  De-forestation could actually be a problem.  There will be groups actively chopping everything down, and other groups (hopefully) acting as rangers protecting the world.   Hopefully the players do a better job in game than we do in real life.

Ah if thats so then all the enviro-nazi's should get ready for me.  I plan to clear cut and deforest my land, then start fracking and drilling for oil, cause thats where da money is!

You had better get started now because there are over 2.8 million trees in the world currently.

2.8 million trees in LiF ?

Sounds like the game should be called "Live in Forest" rather than "Life is Feudal", lol

How many seconds does it take to chop down a tree ?

Can you start forest fires ? image

How fast do the trees regrow ?

I seem to recall that clearcutting trees caused quite a few issues in Xsyon...

It takes about 5 to 6 hours to run across the world from one side to the other (no zoning). The time variation is from how much you sprint and how high your stats are that affect stamina.

    Total area (sq. meters): 470 017 800

Land mass area (sq. meters): 306 155 600

    Iron ore deposits (cubic meters): 2 686 160 196

    Copper ore deposits (cubic meters): 1 585 786 189

Silver ore deposits (cubic meters): 17 192 576

    Gold deposits (cubic meters): 8 103 766

    Total trees: 2 807 269

edit - no forest fires so far ;P
