World of Warcraft: Azeroth Choppers Debuts

SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

A new venture between Blizzard Entertainment and motorcycle legend Paul Jr. has resulted in a web series called Azeroth Choppers. Team Alliance, led by Chris Metzen, and Team Horde, led by Sam Didier, are charged with faithfully recreating World of Warcraft bikes during the ongoing series.

Led by legendary chopper builder Paul Jr., Team Horde will face off against Team Alliance to determine which epic custom-built bike will come out on top in the ultimate showdown. When the dust settles and the final designs are revealed it will be YOUR vote that decides which of these mechanical marvels will be recreated as a free in-game mount. Keep up to date on all of the latest on http://www.AzerothChoppers.com.

Check out the first episode linked above!

Oh goody! They only missed that bandwagon by about... seven years or so.

Don't mean to be overly cynical (okay, I'm lying), but this is just a complete waste of resources. American Chopper hasn't been relevant or popular for a long time.

What's next, selling WoW Furbys or Tamagotchis? How about Casio wristwatches or LED calculators? Maybe even some pet rocks... err, 'earth elemental babies'?

AN' DERE AIN'T NO SUCH FING AS ENUFF DAKKA, YA GROT! Enuff'z more than ya got an' less than too much an' there ain't no such fing as too much dakka. Say dere is, and me Squiggoff'z eatin' tonight!

Weird part about this for me is that I didn't realize that his shop is 5 mins from my parents house in Upstate NY. I might have to make a trip to visit...my parents of course.

This could end up being very interesting.

No, I'm saying that using something which has been past the height of its popularity for quite some time in order to get people's attention is rather pointless. Had they done this years ago, it would have been a smart move. Today it's a waste, and most likely won't attract nearly as much attention as it could have.

    I wish them luck though.

So...   Has WoW done Beiber yet?  Haven't played in forever but this thread about being up-to-date on pop culture made me think of that.

Need a quest chain with a goblin in a flat brim hat (sticker still attached) that goes pee's in buckets, spits on people, gets DUI's and other stupid shit!

It's a free mount, and some funny webseries. I don't see why everyone is complaining so hard.

Oh and before someone says this is taking away from a raid tier or something, they've said since blizzcon there won't be one because they are trying to get warlords out asap.

A huge, immature part of me wants to compile a bunch of quotes from WildStar threads placed by WoW trolls stating how it "looks cartoony", "is garbage", and "for children"... just because it fits so well here, too.

    :)

But the bigger part of me wants this to reach the people it's intended for and make them happy.  That's why we play games, isn't it?  It makes us happy?  Ride on, WoW'ers, ride on! I ain't ridin' with you, but I want your ride to go on for as long as it can as long as it's still enjoyable for you guys.

For those of you complaining that they should be making content instead of making this show - you guys don't get how MMO budgets work. Game revenue is a pie that is sliced up and they're spending a portion of the marketing slice on this. It's creative, actually. If you think this campaign is directed toward existing players you don't realize how many millions of people who still have never set foot into an MMO but have heard of WoW. This is going to get a ton of new people into the game based on their familiarity with the Choppers.

If they did this at the height of the show people would have complained about how much it cost. Bet they got this at a bargain because both get exposure.

You know, that is SO true. When people ask me what I do, I always try to start with "game journalist" but end up saying, "You know, games like World of Warcraft" to which the epiphany begins. :)

Guy on the radio was talking about playing final fantasy reborn. No one knew what he was talking about till he said it is like WoW then they all knew it as an online game.

I'm betting like a tank, that can't turn worth a damn. How do you lean a tread?

That was my thought when I saw the alliance bike.  There is no way that bike could ever be much but a show piece.  The horde "trike" looks like it could actually be ridden (kinda) at least.  But who knows, the bikes may change, and making a functional ride didn't seem to be the point, just one that looked cool.

  • HorusraHorusra Member EpicPosts: 4,411
The tric could turn, but that would be sharp like a tank dragging that front tire across. But hey with treds no more fear of sand on the road at the beach.

I don't understand if you were being sarcastic but since when mount became "content"? mounts/pets are just fluff.
