Clarification on different pledging tiers

TCO_TSWTCO_TSW Member UncommonPosts: 50

Hey everyone,

So I finally managed to get hold of a credit card and pledged (I don't own a credit card myself), but I am still not 100% clear on how the reward work. From what I understand I only get everything that is listed under the tier description, if I want additional stuff, such as a hoodie or an iron-on patch I also have to pledge at those additional tiers. Is this correct?

That is correct. You have the "base" pledges with the associated perks and you can then add Stretch Pledges (in-game hoodie, lorn on patch etc)  to add to the experience. You can also have multiple versions of the base and stretch pledges so if you want both a hoodie & a phone cover from the Stretch Goals you can get both.

Don't forget you can get access to the Gold Members Club if you accumulate three pledges in total. Although the secrets there are a mystery known only to the developers at the moment!

    Hope that helps.

    Hey!

I just pledged. I was confused about the process of pledging, so I pledged the 20$ pledge, the 30$ pledge, and 25$ in stretch pledges, when in reality I really just wanted to do the 75$ pledge. Is there a way to work this out that doesn't involve me paying another 75$?

    Hey Tressith!

Thanks for the pledge! Sure no problem, write us @ support and tell us: what email you used to pay and if it was paypal or Crowdtilt.

I'm just curious; say someone were to sign up for an advanced sub ($75); would they get the perks associated with the previous tiers (e.g. $30 normal account: in-game hoodie, iOS/Android app) or would that require buying the previous tier as well? If not, can the app be bought separately (say, off of iTunes/Android App store) and used in conjunction with the person's Black Watchmen account? I could always put down an extra $5 on a hoodie if I was that desperate, though I was wondering if that would count towards the gold membership. (I think having the Grandmaster package and a $75 would put me at 2/3, so I suspect  I'd need to do something to get that last point anyway..)

Edit: Grandmaster member here, by the way. This looks great, though I'll admit I live in a somewhat awkward and difficult-to-get-to place for popular ARG type events that would involve meeting up with a lot of people in one location, and I can barely handle TSW investigation missions (I'm not all that intelligent), but I think I'd really like to be a part of this, it seems fun. I hope it turns out to be a big success. :)

    Hey Daxmort,

No you don't get the perk from other pledge. But they stack up. That said, we are redoing all the infographics of each perk to make it more clear what you got. For example, the companion app is include in the high end pledge, so that's information we need to clarify.

As for the gold member, event the tips jar count as a step in that direction. =)

Awesome, thank you. :D I'll be pledging just as soon as the money comes in.

Oh, secondly, I already get the year's sub from the Grandmaster pledge, but will those that also buy from the $20/$30/$75 etc. tiers get an additional year, stacking with purchases (so Grandmaster plus $30 = 2 years, Grandmaster plus $30 plus $75 = 3 years)? I know you said that the pledge system/perks stack, but I just wanted to get it clarified a little better. :)

I'd also like a clarification: I have so far beta + grandmaster + in-game hoodie + in-gamem uniform. I hope that means I will get 4 pieces of clothing (I already have the ARG robe, so I'm expecting for 4 new pieces) and 2 years sub. Is that correct?

Anashel sort of answered that over in this thread. The basic gist of things is that the subs don't stack but the levels will have one off perks. When it comes to renewing they'll probably renew at the highest level. So if you have subscribed at the Beta level ($20) & the Advanced level ($75) they would renew at the $75 level. Of course some of the packages may not be available when the game is renewed next year if you don't choose them now.

I just saw above Anashel's comment above about perks stacking "No you don't get the perk from other pledge. But they stack up." I'm a little lost now. Does that mean that as both a beta & a GM subscriber I only get the perks from the GM sub? I wanted the other hoodie. I was also thinking about adding a third pledge (Advanced Mission) but if I'm going to loose all my perks I may not bother and stick with what I have. image

    Hope this helps.

Edited to add part about perks stacking.

I think what he means is that pledging a higher tier does not get you everything in the lower tiers... If you get the James Bond Experience, you don't have a second Real Life Mission + Dedicated Virtual Mission. Also it might mean that someone who gets a James Bond Experience does not get the in game Soldier uniform, though I bet they could ask :P

That would make much more sense. I wouldn't expect to get all the perks for the tiers below the one I was pledging. I would expect the perks for the different tiers I subscribe to to stack though even if the subs themselves don't.
