3 questions, dungeons, treasures and factions

delete5230delete5230 Member EpicPosts: 7,081

Last night just before logging out, I found something potentially interesting.

Dungeons of other factions:

Spindlecluch 12-15 Glenunbra, Daggerfall

The Banished Cells 12-15 Auridon, Domionion

Fungal Grotto 12-15 Stonefalls, Ebonheart

I'm playing Daggerfall, my first dungeon is Spindle.  Someone in chat was advertising for Fungal Grotto, I'm like what !!   Without time to play, I asked him how would you get their playing on a DC faction, his response was teleport.....How can you teleport to another's starting zone dungeon ?  I also checked in the Group finder.  Sure enough you can look for a group.  How does this work without Wayshrines ?

Playing other factions :

I'm still low level and only have one character, and I'm still searching for the right guild.  Yesterday afternoon I was on Team speak with my old guild but they are playing a different faction.  They tell me I would have to start a new character and I can use my other for crafting.  Is this all shaired with the bank, even on another's faction ?.....I guess this would become clear if I just made another character, but for now I only have one.

Treasure maps :

I found on the web a location for a treasure map, I went to it and found a lump of sand that seemed digable, but nothing.  How do you dig ( I also found something on the web that you may need the the imperial addition ) ?...Hows this work ?

Don't repair :

Just now I found a Tips web site. One of the tips was don't repair your equipment, you will save a lot of money.... is this a good idea ?

All fractions can eventually access all zones.  They unlock once the main story is complete or level 50 (not sure which).  I'd assume a high level could be use a teleport point, then just pick up a wayshrine.

On repairs.  Unless it's a nice piece of gear, just craft new ones when need.  Mats are only in short supply at the beginning of a crafting tier, assuming everything is deconstructed.   Although if you die a lot, it would be a problem.

Once you do your faction dungeon the other dungeons should appear on the map and you can travel to them. Only to the inside. If you have not finished you csn tp to someone there that has.

    1) once you complete your own faction's zone dungeon and associated quest, you can use a wayshrine to teleport directly to the other 2 faction's dungeons of the same level.  This way you can get all 3 skillpoints from the dungeons in that level range.  Zoom out all the way to see the teleport options for the other dungeons.

    2) bank is shared between all characters on your account, regardless of faction

    3) usually there is an option to press E near the dirt pile.  Sometime targeting can be finicky and you have to have the cursor in the right place for the option to appear.

    a) the "other factions" dungeons unlock on the map once you completed yours of the level, then you can just click em on the map

    b) you can be in cross faction guilds, the only thing you can do with them tho is either kill em in cyrodill, or chat. if you would start a new char, yes, they'd share the bankaccount and guild invites, so yes, you could make one on the "oposing" factions

    c) treasure maps (if found) lead you to that dig of dirt, you press E then (or whatever your interact with NPC key is) and start to dig, then you get a chest and can take your stuff out of it :)

Shared bank is between factions. Even on non-faction alt you can still talk in guild chat.

You xan only dig the treasure if the map is in your inventory. One time use. Maps can be found as loot or in explorer pack people bought. Pack map non tradable...loot ones are.

Basically you can do any of the factions dungeons as soon as you're the right level for them.

To unlock them as "wayshrines" on the map that you can teleport to yourself - you need to complete your factions dungeon first. Then the other two will appear on the map.

Or you can just join a party and teleport to the group members there through the group panel by right clicking their name.

Another fun fact I didnt know until recently is by talking to npcs in inns they can describe new areas for you on the other factions - this gives you exploration xp and their markers before you even get there!

!) There are Wayshrines. IN the dungeon. Yes, you can do 3 dungeons once you unlock your factions one.

    2) Your Bank, and Guld Bank as well any AH ( if you guys have one) can be accessed from any char on any faction.

The only reason to re-roll would be to play on your friends faction.

    Treasure maps :

I found on the web a location for a treasure map, I went to it and found a lump of sand that seemed digable, but nothing.  How do you dig ( I also found something on the web that you may need the the imperial addition ) ?...Hows this work ?

3)Once you have a map, go to the mound. Press E on the right spot. A chest pops up. Loot and enjoy.

    Don't repair :

Just now I found a Tips web site. One of the tips was don't repair your equipment, you will save a lot of money.... is this a good idea ?

    4)  Right now your gear gets broken by the amount of kills you get. At lower lvls its not good to repair since you can make whites, even greeens cheaper than what repairs cost. Im in blues and purples at lvl 36. Money gets easier. I repair.

I do use white to farm Cyrodiil. Way to many mobs for my "real" gear. Evn thou I still come out ahead. We always go in groups, so a little less dps istn bad.

EDIT: cant get the ight format to post this well. Added numbers to each reply

Treasure maps have to be found in chests or on enemy drops. The pre-order bonus was a single special map for each area but there are maybe 6~ per area that can be found. I only tend to find 1-2 of them. If you dont have the map you cant dig at the site.

I can imagine just buying a new set of gear would be cheaper than some repair costs since it can go insanely high but I just repair whenever I can to make life easier.

If you want to play with your friends you will need to reroll a new character on their faction. The character creation screen is horrible IMO and I chose the wrong faction/class twce. Luckily you can now skip the tutorial and begin as a level 3. Bank all your valuables first though so you can transfer them over.

You can teleport to the other dungeons from a wayshrine, you may need to complete your faction's dungeon of that level first. The bank is shared with all characters in an account, whatever the faction. You need to have found the treasure map to dig, can't just go to the location and get treasure. I try not to repair. If you're keeping up on your crafting your gear can be replaced every two levels, so  I just try to make it to the next gear I craft rather than pay to repair.

Great stuff, thanks everyone :)... all this in 10 min.

This is a great site, no matter what anyone thinks.......I'll have to stop, picking on people, I getting sick of getting three day bands !

    Treasure maps:

Should get a pop-up notice when you get close to lump of sand.  Then press E key(by default) to dig.  Also, your map MUST be in your inventory or it won't work.  It will not work if map is in bank.

I've yet to buy one drink and still have the dungeons appear and can port to em with a wayshrine.
  • HorusraHorusra Member EpicPosts: 4,411
Buying drinks skips you having to complete yours.
