Pong had it's day... time to move on. The developers of Pong did, why can't MMO developers take the same hint?
As long as there are BIG money to be made, no one will be moving. The Pong devs were probably ponged off to create the innovative adventure games, like Atari's E.T.....
The possibility of the universe collapsing into a singularity is higher than the birth of a perfect MMORPG.
Anyway, Post-Kickstarter Campaign, huh. While a big portion of myself genuinely hope that the game can pull through and see the light at the end of the tunnel, a small portion of me is saying, "WTF?" Does this game really, really have to be shaped like what old style EQ used to be? No compromise possible? Is the game targeting at real, real hardcore macho gamers?
As a fan of Vanguard, which is sunseting soon(tm) btw, I feel that the current Vanguard has just the right flavor there. Solo friendly to an extent, but encourage grouping for communication, big rewards, and most importantly, fun. Funny to see that future fans of this game still compare it to EQ rather than VG...

There is a reason the "classic" style that Brad wants for this game is no longer being made, for why the genre has changed so much.
There is a reason the kickstarter failed so miserably.
There is a reason no investors are biting.
Almost no one is interested in playing a game like Brad envisions.
This type of game always was a "niche". The industry moved on and changed because along with that change came a LOT more people playing the games.
Going back to the classic days, the MMO space had far, far fewer players. And MANY of those players only played what was available at the time back then because it was ALL that was available. They'd never play a title like this today, because there are other choices that appeal to them more.
The audience for this game is a very small subset of what was already a small player base back in the day.
It's that simple, whether those who DO have interest in such a game are willing to admit it or not.
I am looking forward to seeing this game get made. So far I have given 420$. @Foobarx This sounds like his is not the game for you and that is okay. This is a niche game for me and those of us who are looking for a modern day EQ, where the focus is on grouping, exploration and being a part of a game for years.
