looking for a relaxing mmo

RageGoriaRageGoria Member UncommonPosts: 61

i've been playing many mmos, such as rift, path of exile, warframe, etc, any games that will tire my hands out, so, i want to try something new, something relaxing, good bgms are preferable, minecraft has good bgms, but, that's not the game i am looking for right now, and i've played it, war of the roses also has amazing BGM, especially their celtic musics(hell yeah, i loved celtic musics) bought the game and i'm happy with it, but all the parrying slashing, piercing, etc won't be able to be called relaxing, i don't mind some battles, it's essential for MMOS these days, and i don't mind peaceful games, as long it's fun. but please, no browser games like farmville.

i prefer the games to be f2p, since i'm not a heavy spender on games,

Try Guild Wars 2. You can level through mostly crafting and exploration if you want, there is very little combat required and the PvE is pretty much one button combat 90% of the time. I found it relaxing in PvE, but if you do want something challenging and fun you can do Dungeons, Fractals, and World Vs World later on for more intensive gameplay.

It's B2P but there is no sub fee after the initial purchase. All in all it's a very casual PvE based game that let's crafters and exploration get a decent share of experience.

    Currently Playing: ESO and FFXIV
    Have played: You name it
If you mention rose tinted glasses, you better be referring to Mitch Hedberg.

Path Of Exile not HC/League would have been my suggestion. I found it fun when you do not desynch. I've since gone to D3 since the patch that made it fun (the one right before expansion) but the game is not free.

Lord of the Rings Online has a special place in my heart but as a F2P it can be annoying I have heard.

Perfect time to grab yourself a Wildstar beta key and try it out.

I find Guild Wars 2 very relaxing to play, particularly the PvE.   The zones are nice to look at, you get XP for doing just about anything and the events that pop up break up the questing quite nicely.

Also, there's no kill stealing or node stealing which eliminates those little aggravations that can happen in a lot of other MMO's.

reviewed guild wars 2 and wildstar, looks awesome :D , but, i won't be able to relax with that, they would be too exciting, like how guild wars 2's big raids with dozens of members hitting big ass bosses, on the volcano, even though it's safer being ranged, i believe the bosses have AoE attacks, and of course dpss' have to maintain their best dps as much as possible, probably, like my experience in Rift, i would play them if i'm not looking for relaxing games, good suggestion, and i've been under surveillance for abt a few months, for buying war of the roses, they(parents and siblings) said i should just always play those f2p games. that's why i'm looking for one, now.

i am thinking of playing path of exile again after a brief stop, sure, it would be relaxing if not for me being a tanker(or melee), i began to think that should i made an archer with auto skill activation instead?

good suggestions, thank you and sorry for me being picky, so far, i had fun with hearthstone, amazing bgms, and the game is polished, i can also play it while alt-tabbing to my facebook or media player, loved it, can't wait for the android version.

I found FF:XIV to be a really relaxing game.

If you really want to relax, jump into a sandbox game. Wurm online, Minecraft, Eve online, Theres not many others that i would recommend right now but a few coming out like Life is feudal, and apparently they are making changes to Darkfall unholy wars to go back to its original sandbox ideas, but i wouldnt hold my breath with Darkfall.

Anyway, if you decide to try Wurm, darkfall, or LIF i play them all, LIF still in alpha though so its not ready to play. Darkfall i only play for the pvp, and Wurm i play for its content.

reviewed them all, i got to admit, life is feudal attracted me the most, i won't mind living in a village being a carpenter, cutting wood and gathering resources and contributing to me or my allies with a realistic aspect in the game, i hope it has great BGM, the combat looks like mount and blade or war of the roses, the minigame looks fun, and while not in the middle of a war, the peaceful setting sure will be relaxing. and yeah, it's still in alpha, and Life is Feudal led me to gloria victis, great suggestion :)

final fantasy XIV is a good game, i've seen my college friends played it a lot, doing high level raids, the special effect is awesome, but sad, i don't think i would want to pay a monthly subscription / month :(

Anno Online is also very relaxing and has great soundtrack.

i sure have, my earlier post also stated that i have played hearthstone, game's beautiful and polished, it's also peaceful in some way, good bgms, and the gameplay surely won't tire my hand, being a TCG. good mention.

Anno Online looks good for a browser game, might try that sooner or later, thanks.

Buy an Xbox 360 wireless game controller adapter from here, then buy a wireless Xbox 360 controller and play any controller enabled game on Steam Big Picture, essentially console on you PC, cause you seem to be complaining more about comfort than the actual game and after all body comfort leads to relaxation.

That can be remedied as well. Just download this and then you can map the left side of a 360 controller to be played one handed while you use the mouse in the right hand so essentially you will be playing like this:

Kinda like a Wii setup with a remote and a chuck. The xpadder software can be utilized to make the back "or top" left trigger even toggle so the d-pad can essentially be 8 buttons, the select 2 and top left 2 as well as clicking in the left stick which would also be 2, so you have 14 buttons just on your left hand and with the Razer Naga mouse of course you have loads in the right "more than needed" especially as the middle mouse button left/right rocker can be used as a toggle to double/triple the side buttons, around 50+ if you go all out lol.

Of course there are variations to this and even some accessories and controllers out there that use this similar design though I have personally found this setup to be the most flexible with both customization and comfort. Take it to the next level of total comfort! image

This is actually a good suggestion , as i was looking for the same thing as the OP, and found it in FF14 ..But its not F2P

You also may want to give Eldevin a look , quite relaxing old school browser game that has a nice F2P model
