My current situation as it stands is I have a currently non-functioning rig that I want to hopefully be able to build off of.. or at least use some of the parts from it in the future. What I have is a custom built rig from Vigor Gaming before they went out of business a few years ago. Its about 4 years old(I believe). I obviously want a new CPU and GPU. I would also like a new hard drive.. or two.. but what I want to know is if my Case, motherboard, and power supply are still viable to save myself a few hundred dollars.
The case is a CoolMaster CM 690. Its enormous..
The motherboard is an Asus m3n72-d.
And the power supply is a CoolMaster 850watt.
All in all i'm confident I could put the puzzle together and switch in and out the pieces to rebuild.. but as far as compatibility goes i'm just not savvy enough to know what will work with eachother.
Again.. all of these parts are at least 4 years old.. so are they even worth using?
Thanks for any insight.

You're definitely going to need to replace the motherboard, as that can't take any remotely modern processor.
The case will lack some modern amenities like USB 3.0 front ports and an SSD mounting bracket, but it will still be usable.
Give the exact model on the power supply. Some of Cooler Master's power supplies are junk.
The other thing that you may be able to reuse is the optical drive, as those haven't changed much in a decade or so.
You can re use the case for sure. Like Quiz said tho no USB 3.0 on the case itself, which for most is not a big deal since a new mobo should have a couple.
Optical ( dvd / blu ray) drive should easily be usable.
Power supply depends. If its a good quality 850w psu then I would probably reuse it. Chances are if it was a prebuilt by a now out of business company its not that great. But its worth checking. Get the model # and google it to see the specs.
Old HDDs can be used for storage of media, old games, ect. I would not install anything important on it. My old HDDs is what I use for old games, movie torrents, ect. If it goes out tomorrow no big loss.
Other than that you need all new stuff, but that should save you a few $ for sure.
