Patch v 1.0.5 (And What It Didn't Fix)

FlyByKnightFlyByKnight Member EpicPosts: 3,967

http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/84259/patch-notes-v1-0-5

I get frustrated with the patch cycle for Elder Scrolls Online.  It always seems like their patches don't fix things that people are finding out 1-2 weeks or more prior (and reporting).  I think for every patch they deploy mmorpg players should list the quests and things that still AREN'T fixed, or have been found.  It's less subjective than complaining and getting in arguments with people making excuses.

Overall

----------

Extremely long loading screens since Patch 1.0.4

Combat delay/lag

Occasional freeze/lag spike (has been around since Beta)

Guild AH breaking forcing players to /reloadui constantly

Bangkorai

--------------

Summoners Camp -  all 3 mobs sometime don't spawn therefore impossible to get credit for kill

Buggy resource nodes, randomly disappearing or impossible to interact with

Alik'r Desert

----------------

Lesser Circle - all mobs don't spawn there impossible to get credit for kill

Yeah the loading screen problem sucks, if it goes for more than a minute I kill the client and start the game again. Really annoying.

I didn't know there was combat lag. I've put in over 200 hours at this point, I'm surprised it hasn't affected me.

Freeze / Lag spike? Again, been super smooth for me with the exception of a couple major bugged quests.

I've never had a guild store break, not sure what that even means/looks like.

Dunno about those quests, I'm AD. But I can say that they fixed messages across tamriel!!! zomg level 50 here I come.

I for one can tell you where those lag spikes/freezes are coming from,  both the launcher and awesomium.exe.   I take my awesomium.exe and put it in my documents until update time and close my launcher while running the game.  Its a back door fix, but its better then getting those spikes.

The game will create a empty folder called awesomium.exe if it finds your awseomium.exe missing.  just deltet that folder when you decide to put back your awesomeium.exe  for when ESO does updates.

I don't know what the issue is it's very random.  Some times it's smooth sometimes i'll be mashing my light attacks and skills and nothing will happen.  Occasionally the game will just completely freeze for about 2 seconds.

There have been enough other individuals with similar issue and I'm aware enough to make sure these issues aren't being caused by my hardware, drivers or internet connection.  I don't know what all the people who have the same issue have in common with me. People were complaining about it since beta though.

Thanks for this. I'm going to give those fixes a shot.  So the game will still function without AwesomiumProcess.exe?  What happens if you don't return it to it's original location when the game updates?

I did get these occasionally after the 1.0.4 patch, and can confirm that closing the launcher seemed to help.  Others report that firewall permission for ESO seemed to help (as per the official forums.)

Does anybody have any other bugs that weren't taken care of?
