Dungons... can I spec for tank also ?

Im playing a Nightblade that's dual welding up close, with Bow for range dps.

I'm only level 15 and did all three dungeons for 12-15. In each case getting a tank and/or healer is hell.

Last night sitting in que forever, I got the idea to play a tank for our group just to even play the dungeon, however my medium armor was badly damaged at the time........BUT this got me thinking about keeping another set of heavy weapons and armor with me.

Now the problem is spreading my points into even another spec.....What do you think about this, has anyone done it WITH GOOD RESULTS ?.....I'm sure some have done it, but could it really be good ?

I really like my dps build but in a pinch it would be nice to be ready.

In a way I could understand that the game don't have many healers and tanks as there are not many dungeons to even bother. What's your view on this topic ?

At level 15 you will be struggling to develop even 2 sets of weapon skills, third one will just spread you waay to thin. Later on you will have enough skill points to develop all skills you want but at the early levels you should not try to do this. Just decide for one archetype for the early game, and add another as you progresses and receive more skill points from skyshards and quests.

Yah, I guess your right....I guess 15 would be too low to try 3 specs.

Just frustrating not finding tanks !

I did light armor and dual wield as a sorc. Once I hit lvl 15 I decided to throw in some resto staff. With only two resto skills and lvl 4 resto staff skill I successfully healed a dungeon and we had a lot of fun. I let the group know my situation and they accepted me as a healer.

I'm sure if I tried to be a tank it would have been harder though. Best bet is to try and work out a build that can accommodate both. I plan to just keep resto staff as my permanent second weapon and use it when I want to be a healer. Not sure how it will work in the later game but we will see. It seems like the trinity is dynamic enough you don't need to have a solid tank and spank setup to win.

I'm sure there must be a medium armor tank build that would work.

Hay, I just got an idea, Please understand this just poped into my head, and may not be a good idea.

I'm still a low level Nightblade.  I don't know if finding a tank is always extremely bad.  It was on at least one occasion, and a little hard on all others.....More time and experience in getting a tank will answer this question.

If I spend more than an hour looking with no results. I could have a few points spent in a tanking build, have heavy armor. Then Join a group and explain " I'm not a full all out tank, would you like me to tank anyway ". If the answer is no, then it's as easy as excusing yourself from the group......Now understand this is just an idea.....It could possibly work out when NO TANKS ARE AVAILABLE.......I can only assume their will be other times when none are available at all.

I only have this idea because twice I was asked if I could tank anyway even with my medium armor.....This was before I ever even thought of tanking......Sometimes, it seems as if groups are desperate, and would really like to run a dungeon.  Some would say this is un professional I AGREE.  But because of the nature of the game and lack of tanks ( at times ) what are you to do ?

Good idea! Worth a shot, one of the awesome things about this game you can't really "waste" points.
