Anyone know if Veteran Zone #2 offer more xp than the first zone? I just dinged rank 2 and I'm still in the first zone. Noticed xp from rank 2 to 3 DOUBLED. Now it's 912k instead of 456k.

Seriously?

Why does this game have such stupid veteran design?

At least give us options. Right now as a pve player (I have no clue if you can level up doing pvp), all I can do is do quests. Grinding is nerfed into oblivion (pun not intended), besides grinding is never fun.

Veteran dungeons are not an option because:

1) they offer no xp.

2) give no rewards for ranks below 5.

Where's the logic?

Sometimes I get the feeling Japs made this game.

I believe that Veteran zones scale accordingly, but I also know that you have to clear out ALL adventure zones for BOTH other factions to get to VR10.

I'm not happy at all with how VR is set up either. I've already done the questing to get to 50 (well, I'm 45 atm, but you get the idea), it was a long haul, I'd like a change of pace, but nope! QUEST EVERYTHING!

I really hope they put in other ways to increase veteran rank going forward, or I'm out at lvl 50.

I'm not even sure why they even created veteran ranks. Just so there would be some difference from the other MMOs?

I'm loving the game but I expect to jump into some dungeons and tank some bosses and loot them and... except questing and questing and questing and questing...

I just paid 12400g to change skills from 2h and heavy armor to dual wield and medium armor. Hopefully that will bring some refreshment into constantly questing, questing, questing...

One thing is for sure, I won't be making any alts.

Very little XP from PvP. But there are "ways" to level faster in VRs. One of the text reviews discussed on the forum here mentioned 2 ways IIRC.

Also, "Japs"? WTF is this, Battlefield 1942?

The VR system is kinda stupid.  So you spend 1/3 of the leveling/questing to hit that max level that isn't actually the max level then pretend to be the other factions for the other 2/3 of the game to the actual max level.

It's also a shot to the nuts for all the players that aren't even aware of exactly how the system works.  Get to 50 because that's the max level right?

"WOO I'M MAX LEVEL TIME TO DO SOME PVP AND PWN SOME LOWBIE NOOBS!!!!"

    <gets 2 shot by VR10>

"oh...i'm only 1/3 of the way through leveling......"

But on the other hand, the VR content is actually my favorite content(unfortunately, it is so late in the game when you may be tired of leveling).  The enemies are tougher and actually punish you for those failed blocks/interrupts.  You can aoe farm but you have to be careful.  The whole zones are your level.  It's not east side is level 15 and the west side is level 25, so you can do the zone in any order and gives it a taste of that Elder Scrolls wandering freedom.

You get about a 50% increase in quest experience per vet rank. At vet 4 I'm getting 6 per turn in. I will mention however that I need 1.9 mil vet exp to hit v5 (70% in atm).

Real grind starts at 50 friends. Hope you like questing.

Isnt the whole point of max level VS veteran levels that you are max level when you hit max level and that's that, then the veteran levels are more of a longer time commitment as one form of end-game activity and not something you are supposed to do over night?

I just hit 50 last night and am just realizing how slow it is through the vet ranks. I'm rather tired of questing atm after the 1-50. I just wish you could get a good amount of xp for doing the vet dungeons.

Yup.  The veteran levels ARE your endgame.  That is, it drags out forever and you just keep on paying... which is fine if the game is fun.

i personally like VR as they basically are what realm ranks where in daoc for rvr and pvp ranks should be the same.

why do i like it? because when there is new content coming they can add new ranks and so while you have to unlock these as well it ADDS to your character progression (which an mmo for me is about) and doesn't "reset" your like in let's say WoW where items are you only character progression that basically gets reset every few patches - horrid design for me personally.

so while i also would hope that there are more ways to level them up, i personally find them the ideal progression system that can be added on top with new content while gear becomes secondary and still fun to find new stuff and it doesn't feel like being reseted every few patches.

i just hope they will do/keep it that way *g* i personally would like them to be way more long term goals like realm ranks in daoc...i played a lot but knew i woud never get to the highest but i still kept progressing and it was fun.

I have no problem with the rank themselves or even how long they are, what i dislike is that you basically have to quest your way through them. I'm not really one for questing, i like to do alot of lvling through dungeons but with the small amount of xp u get from them its not really viable.
