Rift: Sounds Awesome On Paper But When I Play It, Not So Much

XssivXssiv Member UncommonPosts: 359

Decent Graphics (zones more than the player models), great raids, solid dungeons, PvP (including an attempt at 3 faction), a pretty good housing system, one of the better class / build systems available, one of the better F2P designs....

Yet every time I jump back in, it's great for about two weeks then I suddenly lose all interest in playing.

Yeah, I think it boils down to the game just having no hook for me, no "soul."

    It's not bad.

There's nothing about it I would consider shameful, or obviously broken. Just that the combat is so "loose" it throws me off. Coupled with absolutely zero sense of immersion or connection to my character, the animations, GUI elements; I'm driven away pretty quickly every time I try it out again.

Are there any games that do hold your attention?

    The only MMO's that could:

    Everquest

    Anarchy Online

    World of Warcraft

    Everquest 2

Age of Conan (Week or two)

    The Secret World (Two weeks)

You might just be bored with MMOs.  Sometimes taking a long break and coming back is the cure.

    Currently playing:
    Rift
    Played:
SWToR, Aion,EQ, Dark Age of Camelot
    World of Warcraft, AoC
