Been staring myself silly, in the hopes that enough staring would unveil to me what the difference might be between "TBW Events" and "TBW Physical Sites".
Doesn't help I'm interrupted soon after by mental images of various real-world News-agencies reporting about mysterious taped off areas with TBW security, every-day people seemingly being the only ones to have access to these areas, popping up around the world, followed by the subsequent discovery of the Black Watchmen HQ in Detroit by the mass-media, culminating in one fine day, when a governmental body of some sorts pop into the in-game chat asking players about help with breaking the new set of puzzles, so they can report back what the diddly is going on.

I too have been wondering about the distinction, as well as a few other things.
Does the multipass come with depicted lanyard? Does the ID card come with a lanyard also? Or a staple gun so we can forever tag ourselves with our cards?
In what way are the Multipass and ID cards personalized? What information will they have on us? Just our agent name and division(s) as shown, or will there be more?
I am curious about these. Does one need both or could one get the benefits of the Multipass with the ID card?
Yes, the black watchmen ID card is the uber card, give access to any events and building or property own by Black Watchmen Organisation.
As for the card, there is a magnetic strip with all you UID on it, and both card features you agent name and your picture. (Or actually, a picture supply by you. So it can be what you want)
Gives you physical access to any event/building/physical location own by TBW
Contains your agent identification data
Displays your agent name
Displays an image, not necessary your actual photography
At this point, some questions arise in my head:
Does the sole possession of an ID card grant you access?
If the answer is yes, then it is somehow possible a rogue agent could get hold of the ID of a true agent and impersonate her/him. Am I wrong?
If the answer is no, what would be the procedure to know if the ID card bearer is it rightful owner?
Is the ID card pledge time/units limited?
I'm asking this because right now I don't have the money, but in a pair of months I could get it and I'm afraid that could be too late.
I understand the answers to this questions could be classified or sensitive info, so I don't mind moving this questions to the pledgers forums or receive the answers ciphered, I can handle a simple cipher
I am thinking about buying the ID card. I think it's a good gimmick for supporting a great project.
Is there a remote chance that I could use this as someone from Europe (more precisely Switzerland)? Will you think about us while you're laughing maniacally in your TBW-Building somewhere in the Americas? ;-P

Forgive me for not scouring the forums for the direct quote - and conversely, forgive me if I'm misquoting, but, as far as I remember, Anashel said that things happening near us, is linked with how active we are ourselves - even if you're living in the arse-end of nowhere. Like me.
As for how your area will be brought into the game (the above being a case of the game being brought into your area), they'll consolidate information from your area, and use it in missions, which increases the odds that you have exclusive information needed to solve a mission. The chance of it only being you - i.e. the uniqueness - of that information, only rises the further away from everyone and everything you get, in terms og geography.
For example, if they use information from somewhere near or in Copenhagen, there are likely to be quite a few folks knowing it.
If they instead use information from Thisted (another city in Denmark), the chances that the information is something I'm already familiar with is that much higher.
I like the idea of the id card (especially because there's one called a multipass) even though I'll probably never be in a position to actually use it to open anything. I might get it anyway just so I can have one.
Magnetic strips are pretty old school ... I suppose putting a chip on them would be too expensive though.
Anyway, I kind of want a security token branded for TBW, which would access at least some online parts of TBW. I'd get more use out of something like that and it would be kind of fun for TBW to have a bit of access protection.
It would be awesome if they hard a NFC chip (with an encrypted payload) that interacted with the app somehow! They also make ones with both NFC and magnetic strips.
Thank you for your answers. After thinking some time about it and scouring through the forums I decided to buy the ID-Card. Looking forward to getting it and especially using it!

Fresh off the latest AMA, so these answers will also be found in the summary - but just for convenience, I'll post it here as well:
The Multipass is for "Events", things that happen within a set timeframe. For example, such as in the case of a major event in New York, cargo shipping through the world, etc., your multipass will let you in.
The ID-card is for permanent objects/places: A building HE owns (TBW headquarters); something they own that needs to be entered, or something that's a much more valuable property for TBW. This might also translate to in-game interaction, exclusive to those with the ID-card.
Basically, the key-difference is:
ID-card = Interaction with permanent items/objects (possibly something in-game as well)
Multipass = Interaction with public events.
Without a building - or something permanent - they are more or less the same. Might be some "permanent" virtual stuff that are only for those with the ID-card, but that is still something they are working out.
As for the possibility of a TBW HQ, it's not just Detroit that's a possibility, Shanghai is also an option - abandonend nuclear powerplant, as is anywhere that has relative cheap abandoned property, that might function well as a HQ, and be somewhat affordable.
