everyone that reads this needs to get that game the graphics are soo good that u get a good feeling just thinking about it then the races are pretty cool too so get it
i've made a billion posts about RF online, i'll do so again, RF online is a failure, it's a genuine grindfest, nothing special about it, and about the SOO good graphics, i wasn't really impressed a lot by the graphics, i get impressed of playing Half Life ² in high detail, or far cry in high detail, but the graphics are less better than guild wars in my opinion, and not based on texture, but looking at atmosphere of the area's, RF is just, an simple area, a tree here, a tree there, and some monsters, guild wars has beautiful landscapes at times. compare for yourself.
I have a tree, a tree that's in my garde, but my garden's too small for the tree, so the tree is in my house, that means i don't have a house .... who am i anyway?
buy what? RF online? the only reason to buy it is probably because of the hype, but i think people who have played the PH beta know why not to pay money for it ... paying for a grindfest is useless, there a lot of games with similar quality that are for free, and yes, they are also a genuine (korean) grindfest, Dekaron, Silkroad and so on ...
I have a tree, a tree that's in my garde, but my garden's too small for the tree, so the tree is in my house, that means i don't have a house .... who am i anyway?
Played the Japanese beta and after about an hour of playing and getting used to the neato anime graphics, I found out this:
It's an unoriginal grindfest. Complete grinding. Nothing different or unique at all. Kill one thing, move to the next, level up, rinse and repeat.
Yea, when I first saw the game I thought it would be kickass as well. After playing it though..damn, it sucks.
Don't get me wrong, I didn't quit after just one hour. I actually got to level 24 (I had my wisdom teeth taken out that day, so I had nothing else to do -_- Otherwise I never would've tortured myself so much) before I stopped, so I've experienced a large chunk of the game.
And yes, there are much prettier MMO's out there, ala Guild Wars. Only thing about the graphics that I liked was the anime-with-huge-weapons style.
wow I think you guys need to do a little research on the game before you bash it. A: as stated By codemasters. the game does not realy start till lvl 30. at 24 you never even got your 1st real class change. B: Skills and weapon usage. The game is not about what XP level you get it is about getting your stats up that level independantly from you current lvl. C: epics battle. Chip wars bring the whole server to war no matter your level. This is a battle unlike any othere. These chip wars are every 8 hours and if your side wins you get contoll over the best ore for crafting. Armor and Weapons are taken to a new level. Instead of that same old BS midevil crap that is in 90% of MMORPG's. They include things like. firearms, MAU's, Launchers and a very nice furture type feel. I use to play ENB and when it died I had to turn to the midevil BS and it sucked. If you played 1 you know all the weapon names, skills, and class types for them all. As for the grind lol if you can't take it go play wow. I like the fact that it takes time to get good instead of maxing out in a week. That is a joke.
I agree, RF looks really really tight. Just wait ok, dont ned to make 10000 threads about the same thing. RF looks really fun especially because personally I love those types of games and genres. I have never played or seen gameplay so I cannot say it wont be a grindfest etc, lets hope not. As for the cost, if its over 30$ at purchase and more than 10$ a month, no thanks, unless I play it somehwere else and get hella obsessed.
Guild Wars is nothing special,I have the game, its main selling point are its glowy graphics and pvp.I think the pvp in RF is much more intense and rewarding, not to mention the fun factor of runing into a mass of enemies on the battlefield.Your opinions are biased which no one really cares,I for one will still be playing RF no matter what anyone says about it good or bad.
"The game is not about what XP level you get it is about getting your stats up that level independantly from you current lvl"
= grinding. getting your weapon skill up to use different weapons still requires you to go out and kill stuff repeatedly. it's grind of a different kind.
"Chip wars bring the whole server to war no matter your level."
I thought that doing chip wars was reserved for levels 30+. The class change at level 30 is also pretty lack luster. Plus, many people say that chip wars get boring fairly fast.
"Armor and Weapons are taken to a new level."
They're big and sci-fi. Like I said before, after a day or so of playing, you won't really care anymore.
It wouldn't be so bad if there were quest involved, but the only quests are given to you when you level, and consist of going to the next area and killing X amount of monster X. Once you level up, suprise, another quest to kill X amount of X.
And yea, i suppose L2 players will like it, since L2 players are addicted to grind.
Like I said before, the only thing that was nice about it was the anime style graphics and the cool looking huge weapons...which become banal after a while. Yes, the sci-fi setting is kind of nice, but it's the same as putting nice wallpaper up on a delapidated house. It looks pretty now, but it's still nothing but the same old, same old. All in all, it's just the same grind formula with a different face. The gameplay isn't original at all. Weapon levels are just a gimmick, and chip wars has no lasting value.
I guess I'm bashing it as much as I am because I was expecting more out of it. Having played as many MMOs as I have, I value originality of gameplay more than anything. When you've done the same thing 100 times before, you start to look for something different...and RF isn't it. RF = grind

Just wondering what country you play in. Also how long do you play per day. Me i don't mind a little grind. It makes you work to get what you have instead of having it handed to you and everyone maxed in a month. Been there done that. It sucks. LOL thats just funny. Whhhhha I have to kill somthing to level. How many rpg's have you played. I would like to hear about 1 mmorpg that made it were you did not have to kill somthing in order to get xp to level. Now if you really read any of my post it is the way you level. You need to level your pt's in order to get better armor, weapons ect. I'ts not the amount of XP you get but how you go about killing mobs. example. You use a bow you get longrange PT's. You get hit you get def pt's ect. the more pt's you get in that area the better the items you get. So you could be Level 50 but only have long range at level 40. def at 45 and crafting at 10. job clanging you can cross train in if you want. so say in L2 your a warlord you could go necro for the next job change. You do not have to stay in the same job field.
Anyways i'm done with this topic. I think if you have never played try the beta. you can get the peroder for 5 buck then make up you own mine. FYI perorder beta looks to start this weekend GL.

Well i didnt want to offend you in any way I played lots of so called 'zerg' or 'grind' games. As i know my first RPG was dungeon master, i think it was one of the first RPG's ever. I am almost 30 years old, and play a while games, and always - RPG's was my favorites. The RPG'S i played in the last years that are still in my mind was Morrowind, Diablo II, Dark Age of Camelot, Anarchy Online (3 years+ what is for example exactly a grindgame like you describe it) and so on. So don't think im not competent to judge games like this Since i played em myself for many years, maybe (I don't know you tho, don't take it as an offense again) way more then you even know - the most games, well, basically all games are based on killing something to gain xp - but that wasnt here the matter - it was alone about which new contents this game brings and so you was sliding a bit of topic again. Atm there is 1 game where u dont have to kill things for xp - EvE Online. But that doesnt matter since your first post and my reply basically was about new contents and features, and not about 'how to make xp'.
And thanks for the info, but i think I'll quit on that - since i play EvE online i have no intend to play any other games. Still logging from time to time into Anarchy Online, but thats mostly only for chat. If you try EVE online, and like it, there is no need to get back to the standard RPG trail. EvE is unique and has many to give what others cant - this was and is a game that brought/brings many new features into the genre.
Well I know I said I was done with this topic, but I just had to add some thing.
First off I must say sorry for the rant. lol last night was a bad night. I had to tell my 6 year old that his dog is dieing of cancer. So not a great moment in my life.
Second just wanted to say cool i thought I was tld he only old man around here. I'm 27. First rpg was Swiss Family Robinson on Commador 64. lol funny how cool that game was. MMORPG include ENB, EVE, WOW, L2, COH, RYL, ext. ext. ext. EnB was by far the best. DAMN EA. Anyway I think all game have a kinda grind to them. It is the way you grind that make a diffrent. EnB did it with trade routes Combat and Explore. Making them 3 diffrent things to level up one there own. I think RF Brings this style into it. Like I said I was and am a big EnB fan, but hey I have my taste just as others have theres. My advice for anyone would be don't listen to all the hype play it for yourself and make you own choice.
As for people saying this is another L2 thats just wrong. One char looking close to one of L2's does not make the whole game the same. sorry had to point that out. I have seen many post saying just that. lol

I have seen many post saying just that. lol
Hope to see you all soon in RF like it or not.
