First off, I looked everywhere and couldn't find an answer to this. But in case I missed it I apologize for posting the same topic.
So today I pledged the advanced subscription, does that put me at level yellow or am in orange? As a follow up if I am in yellow can I opt-out of the "stalking" parts? I personally don't mind, however, I'm pretty sure my family would be unnerved by it :P
Thanks in advance for any help

Advanced does indeed put you at the "yellow" level, however, you will be able to set that back to orange or red. Before you do that though, being yellow will entail certain clues and events that simply won't happen if you are not yellow, such as phone calls, emails, possibly 'random' tweets, etc. so, it's just something to consider. As far as it's been announced, you'll be able to change this during the course of play as well, so you could always have it up to start, and if it's too much, then dial it back a little.
Really though... why would you want to?
Hehe, having small children around the house, perhaps?
But yeah, I agree with Tyryt.
You'll of course be able to play the game regardless, but the added immersion is quite thrilling. If it's because you are a bit anxious about it - find it frightening or what not - do remember you are more than welcome to join us in IRC; believe it or not, you wouldn't be the only one who'd be a bit scared, and having the rest of us folks to talk to might calm you down.
One thing is certain, you won't be ridiculed or some such; perhaps poked a bit to, but no one would be surprised if you did find things a bit scary - that's HE intent, after all.
If it's because you have small children around, keep in mind that you don't have to answer the phone if it rings in the middle of the night; if HE has something special for you, they'll try reaching you in various ways - not just keep up calling untill you pick up.
Either way, I'd certainly give it a try first, and as Tyryt points out, you can always "demote" yourself to lower levels of involvement.
Failure will always be possible, regardless of your "Spectrum Level" (what colour you have, your level of involvement), as well as irrespective of your "Clearence Level" (what skill your class has the highest score in, which only shows how often you get missions of a certain type, not the difficulty or rewards of them) - and missions will have varying lengths regardless. Some might have a set limit of 1 hour, others may have weeks.
The spectrum-level (with the only current levels available to players being red, orange and yellow - red being lowest), reflects your level of involvement in the game.
Red translates to you "only" being able to help solve the various puzzles.
Yellow means you might recieve phonecalls, have people (actors, presumably) approach you in real life, as a means of notifying you or informing you of relevant missions.
Orange is somewhere in between the two.
The "clearence level", as mentioned, only translates to how often you are offered certain missions.
So if you, for example, have "Real World Knowledge" at 5, and "Tactical Skill" at 1, you are much more likely to get missions that require Real World Knowledge, than missions that require good dexterity - how the numbers translate to the exact ratio of offered missions is something we still don't quite know.
