Shut your pie hole. You are supposed to pick one to like, and only one.

But seriously, the OP really shouldn't have posted that troll post on this game's forums.  This is just going to breed even more resentment and retaliation with certain people.

you cant compare the 2 ESO is in another class.

GW2 has no exploring only zones you kill these kind of monsters then those.

ESO has exploring to find quests and they are trying to make each quest unique.

I was so bored after getting half way through the game and the worst mistake was no DUNGEON FINDER.

the players begged them for a dungeon finder and hard headed arrogant ncsoft refused.

I will buy GW3 if it comes out but it must be open world not just zone restricted.

If you compaire the game for me ESO is better

But I had friends playing GW2 with me, so I had more fun in GW2. No friends in ESO

Having played both and currently playing neither Elder Scrolls is better then Guild Wars 2 in every way. ESO should have been buy to play though like GW2.

lol, so what does make you a good qualifant for making your own judgement on a game?

It does show that he is an experienced mmo player, wow is the big boy on the block for 10 years now and it's one of the first games which have started it all. I don't get it where's the hate coming from for wow, it was the best mmorpg for a while and judging by subs it still is. So hold on to your hate-train guys, but hate does make you blind. You don't have to like the game, but being aware of the facts is something totally different.

Now to add my vote... I've racked up a lot of hours in GW2 and I do enjoy the game. It misses some carrots on sticks after a while but it's a good game overal. ESO on the other hand couldn't keep my interest for more than 2-3 hours before I logged out and haven't logged back in since.

    EDIT:

GW2 actually encourages you to explore the zones, there's chests for rewarding you if you finish a hidden puzzle or find a semi-dungeon.

Also, they added LFG tool which works perfectly and it's not NCSoft... ArenaNet is the developer, and they never refuse anything. It's the most open and accepting developing team I've encountered in all my years of playing MMORPGs.

I've played both ~400hrs of GW2 and bout 10d+ currently on ESO and i can say they both have their merits, but ESO's AVA and "Endgame" (which im not in quite yet, but have dont veterans) are far better.

You mean instanced, limited lobby raids etc. etc.?

    Just my 2 cents.

Also, has no sub doesnt hurt either for GW2

There is absolutely no facts in this post to back up your statement...

If they added the physical annimations ( but certainly not the spelleffects) added the GW2 dynamic comtent system on top of the eso quests"..... Then eso would be a perfect game...

in the end i left GW2 ( which certainly was a fun game). Because

    - no progression

    - wvwvw zergs

Also why should we forgive problems during launch?

Because many previous games had problems? To me that's not a valid excuse period.

    1. You spend $60 - the game should work, the quests (especially MAIN quest) should work, the server shouldn't be down for 14 hours, bank slots deleted - this should not happen ever.

Mass bans (including players who never duped), then unbans of folks who duped too?

There are some things that are very hard to forgive.

I feel that Zenimax does not know and are not ready to host a AAA game - I am not going to give them another shot at this time.

I have no confidence in their ability to run an online game at this time. So I will play out my remaining 2 weeks but no sub from me.- the total lack of trinnity ruined group content

    - all the silly expansion stuff turned it intoo a silly game instead of the expected immersive virtual world..

    - personal story and living world where below average, and not by far enough to keep people playing..

and a long list of smaller things

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

I don't quite get what you want to say with this...

I didn't hear gw2 players outcried for raids and what would be the whole purpose of them since there's no real vertical gear progression? If there were a real demand for raids then forums would be filled with them and there'd be an open discussion about if as with everything else. They added account bound legendaries, they added ascended gear/weapons which people we're curios about and kinda wanted to have something close to legendary gear. I'm not that sure what's etc., etc. :D

I'm fine with no raids in GW2. I don't think there is a huge desire for raids via the forums either.

    ESO = GW2
  • RemyVorenderRemyVorender Member RarePosts: 4,006

ESO is GW2 done right IMHO.

    Better skill system

    Better world exploration

    Better crafting

    Better combat system

    Better quests

Don't diss WoW. What MMO did you play that makes your opinion account? WoW is/was great.

@OP, I managed to get to level 80 in GW2, I am at the point of quitting ESO at level 20.

The time it takes you to hit 20 in ESO, you can hit 80 in GW2. That's not a positive in my book either.

GW2 is a good game, 1800 hours on it. But it's far too casual, it lacks longevity. I stopped playing 3 times for a few months, the only thing that made me go back was how much I missed doing WvW with my guild, but how visible it is the lack of focus on WvW while shitty story gets all the updates made me quit.

I'm here having as much fun as I had on GW2, but in here I have more hope that they will put meaningfull content instead of only focusing on putting new things on the gem store.

    Launch GW2 > ESO
    ESO > Present GW2
    .................................
    Dog Feces > Present GW2

Jokes aside, GW2 at launch was the best MMO experience I've had. The game was absolutely phenomenal and still would be if it wasn't for the MASSIVE amount of restrictions they put on players now. It hurts, literally, to see ArenaNet butcher that masterpiece every patch.

I have to laugh, the first really dumb mistake ArenaNet made with GW2 was putting a cap on AoEs basically destroying any chance a small organized force would have against a much larger force. I'll be darned if ZOS isn't doing the same thing with ESO.

It's like these developers never learn.

That's to be expected.  That's not a problem for those that still play GW2 though.  Just like people leaving ESO for lack of sandbox (Elder Scrolls) gameplay.  Those that have desired that have since left the game or never bought it to begin with.

I have GW2, ESO, TSW, Wildstar and Gloria Victis currently installed on my PC. I don't have time to play them all ( I don't have time to play more than one, really ), but I can switch the one I'm playing from time to time.

Wildstar was just for last two beta-weekends, to try it out.

Gloria Victis is an indy MMO in alpha stage, so can't compare it to others really.

GW2, ESO and even TSW are similar in many ways. GW2 is most fun when exploring the world, doing jumping puzzles, fighting in small scale PvP, mabey in WvW, but games engine can't really handle it well and it's rather repetetive. It has beutifull, original art style and very nice graphics, but not as nice as ESO, imho. There's not much to be excited about in terms of character progression and development. ESO is great for questing, immersion, character progression, crafting. It has great engine and graphics. Also, it's simply huge. TSW is similar to ESO wih its voice-overs, focus on questing, 3 factions, open character progression, but on much smaller scale and in completely different setting.

Arguing wich one is better is just pointless. It's smply a question of taste and you can easily play and switch between two or three games.
