Alpha Carrying over to release?

Forgive my ignorance but does Alpha carry over to the release? Meaning if they dont wipe anything we will keep our toons?

Playing: Darkfall Unholy Wars & ArcheAge(Alpha)
Backed: Shards Online, Camelot Unchained
Loved: Vanilla WoW,UO,Shadowbane,EQ,DAoC,Asheron's Call(Darktide)

    Trion has stated numerous times there will be wipes throughout Alpha and possibly Beta and that they would be unpredictable. You will NOT get to keep your Alpha character into the actual launch servers. They DID however mention you might be able to keep it on the PTS servers (Test realm).

    I think Alpha is going to run concurrently along side the Beta when it starts , and as far as I know the Alpha will change over to a test server upon release.

    ^^^ this, the devs have stated it on the official forums...  forget where i read it but its over there.

    But i did not want to be in Alpha so i could carry those toons over to release, the experience i will have and know where i will go and what i will do on release is what will be a benefit. I also enjoy testing games for devs, although most of the bugs i have reported in AA are just translation errors.

    I just want to know if Beta is going to get wiped. Lot of mmo's today carry over from beta but not alpha. If beta carries over then I will buy one of the founders. If not, i wont drop 150 or 100 on digital trinkets that offer me nothing more than I can get in game.

    Will my Alpha progress carry over to Beta or Live servers?


    As it is a dedicated testing environment, Alpha progress may carry over to a Public Test Server, but it will not carry over to Beta and the Live launch servers. Alpha and the eventual Test server exist in parallel with Beta and Live, as is commonly done in MMOs. Please treat time on Alpha as helping test and having an early experience with the game – not as progress that will be preserved.
