That's a really cool idea Nanfoodle. Some dynamic open world PvE city sieges? Now that's some PvE raid content I could actually sink my teeth into!
Thanks =-)
I do have to give you a +1 as well. I love the idea, I'd also love to see that same idea in the PvP content as well. Similar to the way Warhammer Online had their endgame PvP/PvE.

hmmm yeah, i wouldn't count on it. This happens with every MMO released, some are good, some are bad, but most have this huge potential because dev's built a huge world for us to play in. The only problem is that they don't know how to make that huge world fun to play. So we get these MMO's, we play them for a few months always hoping it will get as epic as its potential can be but they never reach that state.
They could do thousands of things with ESO that would make it amazing but the game launched so buggy that most of the dev's time will be spent on fixing those bugs. It launched with no endgame content so they need to focus on that for the future content patches.
The problem with PVE content is that people usually eat it up faster than they can provide the content. It's amazing how MMO developers still don't know that for a themepark MMO to survive it either has really challenging( but fun ) PVE content where people will get stuck in for a long time OR provide sandbox features so players can create their own content against each other. This way they ll have time to focus on future updates and keep players subbed for a long long time.
By the time ESO reaches that state, if it ever reaches that state, many players will be gone by then.
In my opinion they should focus heavily in PVP and try to make those PVE-only zones a bit more interactive. Either give them dynamic events like GW2 or insert pvp in them aswell.
I reached level 50 and I'm sick and tired of questing, its boring godamnit, unchallenging and boring! It pains me just to think I have to redo all the quest again but times 2! Insanity.

God, the WildStar voice when levelling up would fit here perfectly no, I wont play WS either. No chance in catching me here. And the second surprise here is, that apart from some differences in the dungeons - the entire content in all three zones is the same.So choice is an illusion. Yet once again. If you level as EP and go into DC zones, or whatever you did first - you enter all areas pretty much on the same 'ideal' level.Seeing Veteran Ranks as something special is just wrong on so many levels.Veteran ranks from 1-5 means going from 'normal' level 1-50 again. In that entire zone. VR 6-10, means yet once again going from 1-50 in the last zone. So you went through all three.Nice content recycling right there ZOS. Do you really believe people are that infantile to not realize this?
See what happens when you rush to the end.. lol Dumb
God I love being a casual! by the time I get even close to lv 50 the xpac for ESO will be out. You people who rush to the end then bitch.. make absolutely no sense to me what so ever. Why are you not play a FPS game instead? Why do you come to the MMo market and do this then bitch? Just so when the next best thing comes out you can rinse wash repeat? .. sad
My only big complaints with questing currently is due to the fact that I like to mindlessly grind monsters and since Zenimax completely nerfed almost all exp gains until the 1.1 update; so it's not a valid way of grinding for experience. The other issue is with the sheer amount of broken quests. Last night I couldn't finish 5 whole quest chains and at v5+ content that's easily 500k+ experience I'm missing from not being able to complete them.
I love the fact that Zenimax has brought back "hell levels" it makes the players have to work for progression.
Grinding is tough because what might take 10 hours to do solo can take 20 minutes in a group of 4 given the right environment. I'm really surprised I haven't seen people yelling to not advance the anchors and let the mobs just endless drop for grinding. I suppose someone would come along and advance it but if you could setup a group on a anchor and keep from clicking on the things that advance the stages you could probably earn a lot of XP really fast even at the currently nerfed rates.
I do think there should be alternatives to questing for getting VR ranks but I worry about making one or more of them easier and letting people shortcut the questing process only to have them come on these forums and complain how empty the game is and how meaningless and easy having to go back and do VR1 quests as a VR10 is for skill points. If you gave people a alternative way to earn XP you also have to give them a alternative way to earn the skill points and that's just ripe for abuse.
My only problem is they went the route of using the same quests you would get if you stare out in that zone. I mean all the factions are at war with each other. They should of made all new quests. So a DC faction would go into auridon ad sabotage or even take over several camps and cities. maybe not the main city but you get my drift.
Rehashing the same quest as a level 1 is rather lazy work.

If it took 10 hours to make it though your main zone and 10 hours in each of the other 2 I would agree with you. But it doesn't. There is at least as much content 1-50 as any other theme park MMO released in the last 10 years (probably a lot more than average for sure) and 2 times again as much between VR1 to VR10. This isn't lazy it's a design decision to lengthen the time it takes to get to cap significantly over their peers.

They explain in the game why you are going to the new zones and appear to be in that faction.
That idea is good though, that would be cool to basically go underground in the enemy territory but the dev work on that would be crazy, if that was the case the game probably wouldn't be out right now, they would still be making the content.
PVE is really tricky, it takes months/years to make content that the players will spend days/weeks going through. What you are suggesting is a great idea but would take forever to create.
BTW they are not rehashing anything, if I haven't seen it, its new to me!
It seems like a lot of people actually like this idea. The OP is just trying to get a rise out of people. Just like every game, there are the four people who create multiple accounts and attempt to create hate.
I actually really like this idea a lot. Now I don't have to create alts to see the other factions content.
I'm a big pve'er though so my opinion is biased.
Couldn't have said it better myself. I got a VR10 and a VR1, and I like how slow it is to level. It's fast compared to some old MMOs I used to play
If only I had the same amount of time you have to sink into a video game. So, you've essentially hit 50, four times. I have one level 17, a level 9 and a level 7. I'd be lucky to get 20 hours to play in a week. So I'm betting you easily log enough for a full time job, and probably more.
That's the priveledge that comes with owning your own business. I'm taking all of April off, it'll soon be over though, and back to work lol. Yeah, I put in more than full time every week lol.
People always cry about not having enough content at launch...now people cry about ESO having too much content...smh
I'm gald they reused the other faction's zones for Vet content. Most MMO's just let those zones sit there. Sure people can roll alts to experience that content, but once you've rolled one faction and started joining guilds and have established a place for yourself, it's a little less likely that you'll roll alts that you will spend time with on another faction.
I don't see it too often in other games, people usually stick with one.
I don't see what the problem is OP. ESO is a perfect mmo for people that don't like mmo's. Why are you warning them against it? Those that love mmo's, they already know about the content recycling. ESO is a solo'ers dream.
The debate on if a single player experience is worth $15 a month is another topic, but for eso not being worth it? If you lhate mmo's and you like to solo 99% of the content, this is the perfect mmo for you.

The other faction maps scale up, 50+ and 50++. There is solo content but there is a lot there that gets so hard you are going to need friends and guilds to get done. You are missing the real state of things.

Yeah, so far most if not all of my leveling experience has been spent soloing. However, I can safely say having an ally with you would help increase the leveling process significantly.

Yes, yes I am.
To bad, thats not what I got reading up on this is the past. Ooo well.
This was explicitly advertised and has been extensively discussed. If they didn't do this, people would complain that they "could only see a third of the game with their main character". If they do, then it's "cheap". For the record, it does look as if there are 100 - 150 hours of things to do per faction; in what way is having more things to do than any other newly released MMO "cheap"?
I am pretty sure that if Vanilla WoW at launch forced you to do every single quest in the game, including both Horde and Alliance quests, you would have the same amount of content or even more than ESO.

This is one of the things I love about this mmo, lots of PvE content and story and a great PvP system which still somewhat feels open world PvP because Cyrodil is pretty big. In Skyrim, Oblivion and Morrowind all I did was questing so this is good for me.

Can i ask something ?
If VR require you to enter other factions to do quest , will you able to PK or get PK while in other faction ?
I mean we get 3 faction war but it safe to enter enemy's land ?
Yes it's safe, the PvE zones have no PvP even during VR leveling.

The only thing I'll say about the subject is I absolutely refuse to do all 3 factions with one character, no veteran lvl 10 for me.
