Healing Revolution

nuwangnuwang Member UncommonPosts: 4

I just wanted to say healing is awesome in this game. No more looking at unit frames. No more UI minigame. Never ever had this much fun beeing a healer in any MMO.

If you like being the guy who keeps your party alive, Wildstar is the way to go!

Yeah, I normally tank or DPS in MMORPG's.  WildStar made me want to heal.  Soooooooo much fun!

I Iike how healers heal in different ways.

The esper is more familiar, for people who like the traditional healing style.

The medic is the mobile cone healer for people who like that style.

    Very cool system.

The way mmo's were: Community, Exploration, Character Development, Conquest.

The way mmo's are now : Cut-Scenes,Cut-Scenes, solo Questing, Cut-Scenes...

Well its not a whack-a-mole game anymore but I would still look at the unit frames to see who needs the heal. Im actually considering healing myself. Usually tank (as an alternative to DPS) but it doesnt feel as useful in this game where telegraphs attacks all members and the tank is mostly just taking auto-attacks.

That's not really true.  You do need to look at unit frames.  If some dps runs behind you off screen you won't know their hp level.  Esper's especially heal via whack-a-mole with their single target  heals.  The only real AE healer is the medic.  Although I was loving playing the medic I believe the Priest in Tera was more fun and a better AE healer.

The real draw back is the single target heals require manually targeting, not like in Tera where everything was skill shot.  It was much easier to single target heal there.

Don't forget AoC also had this healing style. All AoE and cone healing. Each of the 3 healers healed in a multitude of ways making them feel very different. This is, IMO, is the best way to heal. Moving around, positions, lining up your group mates for some cone action.

No it doesn't lol. If it did than it'd actually be fun but the combat and healing in Wildstar is just not that great. Nor is it revolutionary. TERA has been doing non targeting healing for three years as have a few other games (although not as well as TERA).
