OGRank published the results of another Poll
Personally I voted EVE on OGRank poll as I did on some categories for MMORPG.com one.
PvP in EVE is number one. Point. (IMHO of course)
But for graphics I still prefer WoW, mainly because I appreciate the variety and I love fantasy 
For storyline it is an easy victory for Star Wars, even if Everquest has a very depth one

EVE is very overhyped. its not the game with the most followers,but it has little to no haters (like WoW and Lineage 2 has)
when I saw on the mmorpg.com choice awards EVE was ranked highest for pvp and graphics (

then I knew the results were not to be taken seriously. too much hype.
I think that the EVE player base is mostly made of people who follows the MORPG market actively, surfing website and posting on forums more than the average WoW player.
Those polls doesn't really represent what the full MMORPG playerbase thinks about these games, but mostly what the ... let's say most informed, updated, interested players do.

EVE online is overrated.
Just like Anime style RPG related games where you put up a poll saying what is your favorite game type, it will be RPG in first by a long shot.
And then again, EVE gets mentoined over and over and over when it comes to someone looking for a 3D space simulation MMO which is a bit annoying.

then most of them will answer:"whats that?"
while a lot of eve players also visit this forum
No surprises there, there is not much more to do then alt+tab the game and visit forums/websites
besides, EVE has advertised the editers choice all over the place, so its not a miricale they got so many votes.

EvE gets good votes because we EvE players are so bored that we alt tab to vote for it. Yeh sure.
Ever thought about this one: People who are bored with a game wouldn't give that very same game good votes?

the main thing that made EVE win is because of the amount of followers on this forum.

so yea... hmmm, maybe eve sucks, maybe it doesnt, important thing for me is, people in eve havent been talking about vin diesel and raping other peoples mothers for the last 6 months.
that and beautyfull graphics, and player politics that matter, teamwork enphasis, and being free to do as you wish, without getting a warning from CCP every 2 days about steeling some other guys mob.
But this is all subjective, its my opinion, and im just trying to get my site rating up so i can vote for eve...
I will have to say im a bit surprised, yet at the same time not of this outcome. Eve is not a game for everyone thats the underlying fact here . It has some strong points in depth realism and Graphics . Yet is very shallow in other aspects that many other MMO's are strong in . Community for example , I do agree with a few posts made about the votes . Most people i know in games like WOW or SWG don't even know of this site . I measure games by my own opinion of them , not what is hyped or flamed . So i will say Eve is probably one of the most hardcore mmos available . Yet it most certainly is not the best overall game .

I am a eve hater myself.
I hate games where scamming is part of the norms.
When I was a newbie, I joined a random corp (guild).
After mining for the corp for a month with a promise of a better ship,
the corp leaders kicked me out.
My ex-guildies started hunting me down.
Nobody would tell me why.
After spamming the shout channel, 1 of the person I group regularly whispered that I stole millions from the corps fund.
The corps leader scammed me out of my reputation and hard work.
They scammed me out of the friends I group regularly.
I cancelled my account that day.
Now, I am glad I am out of that game, as I always Play Nice, and cannot stand scammers.
WOW. Talk about sore losers. Always some excuse for why your game didn't do better than EVE did. If people loved their game enough they'd come here and vote. EVE advertised it so that we would know that we should come here and vote for our fav game. I actually didn't vote for EVE in a couple of the cats, but it still won. It's well deserved acclaim for the game. It's produced by a company that truly cares for the game more than their wallets and it shows. Think what you want about EVE, but it seems that a lot more people here like it than hate it like you do.
So keep bitchin and moanin and help people to realize why they don't play your game. SO they don't have to deal with people like you!
You can step off the soap box now , Seriously do you feel threatened ? All i see are people giving their opinions on an open forum . A majority of the flames are coming from Eve players , which i find quite humorous . why might you ask ? Well this is the third thread I've seen on this subject . So many form Eve keep posting comments such as , "our community is mature we don't need you WOW types " yet i haven't seen players of other communitys flaming here . Sometimes all you have to do is stop observe and the truth can come at a glance .

Two things bothered me most about EVE that have already been mentioned.
1) Travel time is ridiculous. I shouldn't have to download or have another player send me insta jump bookmarks to take the tedium out of travel. If you don't mine, 90% of your game time is spent traveling. If you do mine, 90% of your time is spent spinning around a rock. For the love of God, add a skill or some way to travel from one system to another. I'd pay isk to have me and my ship teleported from one area to another. Of course, if you did this trading would be ruined. Part of the EVE foundation is relying upon the tedium of travel to limit the number of players that can make isk off of trading.
2) Real time skill training sucks bad. At first I thought I would like it. But when I saw that I had a one month wait to train level 5 industrial ship I was wondering what gaming God I pissed off to deserve that. We are talking one month to raise one skill one point. That was on top of the two plus weeks it took me to get the level 4 skill trained. Not for me thanks.
If those two were fixed, I'd consider coming back even with the repetitive agent missions and mining grind. I've tried to get into the game twice but couldn't do it either time. Its the only game I have ever played where I literally fell asleep on my keyboard.
