The look and feel
I think the one thing stopping me from downing $150.00 USD is the god awful look and feel of this game. Granted it is a beautiful game, yes. The graphics speak for themselves, but the overall feel? Makes me want to poke my eyes out! It's, yet another, korean/asian MMO that attempts to look western, but fails in many aspects. It's aggravating borderline insulting. Most times I just cant stand to look at it. All of the games systems sound really solid, though I have yet to experience them and cannot speak on them.
The other thing that gets me is the ultra "cookie cutter" and "cut and dry" look of the environments, most notable in player run/built areas. The same exact tree all in a straight line with no variation, cows all lined up in rows and columns, gag worthy houses with lackluster lighting and shading(especially from a distance). They almost look like the houses in Aion...
Sorry if I'm stepping on the toes of those who are completely in love with the game, but I just cant stand these two things. If something AMAZING comes out about it that I really think is worth the 150 bones and stomaching the ultra asian-western art...then ok...i'll bite.

The world to me seems to be pretty good. The water in this game, the sunsets etc are amazing.
I do agree with you on the player housing.
How a game looks is generally down the list on what I want out of a game and for the most part have been impressed.
I am playing it now. And do somewhat agree that it certainly does have a very asian look. Yet it is still a lovely world from what I have seen so far. But then again...I haven't been too impressed with anything western as of late either.
It's either push the graphics and make the game look all pretty but fail to put anything new/different or interesting in the game. Or go with cookie cutter graphics and put out a game that has much more of everything in it.
Poke your eyes out all you want at this game. But compare its features to say Elder scrolls. ESO may be prettier....but does it have crafted player housing, boats, farming your own produce, large open world, plenty to do at any level. Pirates, plenty of PvP and PvE. Court system, mounts, gliders and I am sure plenty of other things that I don't even know about.
I can run this game on highest settings in busy towns without a hint of lag. And no I don't run some kinda super gaming computer. Bitch all you want about the watered down graphics. I think it looks plenty good enouph, and I'll take the open freedom in AA over any graphics pushing western game with watered down gameplay.
How dare Koreans make an Asian inspired game!!!
On another note: You can place your livestock and trees however you want. People usually line them up to make the best use of space..
