I know I'm supposed to ignore this thread but I can't help it.
FE is not vaporware. It will happen when they are good and ready. So what if they haven't updated in awhile, so what if they don't send newsletters all that often. They have said it time and time again that they want to concentrate on the game and not waste time discussing and hyping the game. The more time they spend on the game itself, the better it will be.
To the creater of this post: It's obvious that your just looking for a reaction as I'm sure mommy and daddy don't spend enough time with you. So why don't you go grab a ball and play with yourself. Re-creating a thread that already exists is pretty lame....
Besides, wasn't the site updated with new artwork just before Christmas? We cant expect Icarus to waste resources on hype and PR when they can utilise them to make the game that much better! Who wants hype anyway?
All I can say to the original poster is to start reading. If you look at the interview recap done over December with Christophe at Icarus, you'll understand why you don't have a plethora of updates.( Plus, the lack of updates is addressed in this thread by previous posters )
Yep I was looking for a reaction....but im also curious as I have yet to see any InGame Media (even TW had screens, yes screens not renders) all Ive seen so far are a few renders
and that they licenced a tree engine
I was convinced that TW would come out and would rock
I was sure FOMK would be awesome (while FOMK is still in production and looks like it will be released ...I was extremely dissapointed in what i was expecting versus what they delivered)
I played Neocron for years(I quit about a year ago) and have been looking for a good sci fi game(hopefully mmoFPS...but meh) FE does sound great but so far all Ive seen has been talk...
I actually really hope it doesnt turn into vaporware...but Its been a really long time since ive heard anything NEW about it

What do you mean by ingame media? If you're looking for the feel of the game, I sugest that you download the trailers. There are some available for download at the official site and at the Travellers-Hub (i think fallenearth.se might have some too).
With very little information and minimal hype around, I don't know how you drew that conclusion. We know what the game is about, the setting and the style. We have an idea of what the game is like feature wise although Icarus keep saying nothing is set in stone and everything is subject to change throughout development. We are familiar with some of the tools they have been using to make the game. Apart from that its all speculation and interpretation of the interviews/emails.
To be honestly we dont know alot. Despite what some people may believe, beta has not been officially announced (as I have been told several times by Mr. Watkins) and it may be a while before we see anything substantial since they will release it "when its ready".

The screenshots posted on our website and at various other places on the web are, in fact, in-game shots. I don't think any of the things posted anywhere are "renders"
The movies that we've released are also done in the game, not in some art or viewer program.
yeah OK I saw the in game trailer...yeah it looks bad ass

yeah now I cant wait for you guys to pump this thing out....

Now you too can enjoy the pain/pleasure involved with waiting for those precious tidbits in each newsletter. It is quite a suspenseful experience.. much like sitting on the edge of your movie seat in anticipation of what is going to happen next.
I kind of like suspense versus hype. It's much more... suspenseful
