I played Elder Scrolls/Wildstar/The Repopulation - ARCHEAGE is for me!

RlechotRlechot Member UncommonPosts: 25

I purchased Elder Scrolls Online and played it for about a month. I liked the game - I didn't love it, but I liked it. I liked it enough that I planned on playing it through the summer and probably most the year - even with all the bugs. In fact I bought a copy for my son and paid for his subscription. Over the last month I also played a little Wildstar - very polished for being Beta, but after playing this game I soon realized it wasn't for me. I also got an Alpha invite and played The Repopulation. I have high hopes for The Repopulation especially since I am an old Star Wars Galaxies die hard. But after playing the game I learned they are still a long way out from being close to a finished product.

Then along came ArcheAge........I got an email saying I could play now for $150. I read a lot of you are outraged by this, but to me $150 is nothing more then taking my family out to dinner for one night. I knew going in, it was a gamble, but one worth taking if the rewards were real. Without a little risk life would be boring. So I bought it and within a week I found myself not wanting to play any other game out there. In fact I found myself not even reading these emails I get from MMORPG anymore. I don't care anymore about any other games. I canceled my sub to Elder Scrolls and now all I play is ArcheAge.

I haven't felt the kind of pull this game is giving me since I was first introduced to MMO's with Star Wars Galaxies. I have been searching for years for a game that really pulls me in again and I felt it would never happen. But it did - and it's some crazy game I never heard of from Korea? WOW - I didn't see that coming.

When I turn the graphics setting up all the way, I really like the style of graphics this game gives and in my opinion, it doesn't look so Asian style like Tera Online or Aion Online. I love how if I in my Sandbox mood I can play this game as a sandbox and vice versa if I want to just quest and go Theme Park, I can do that as well. I have choice in how I play this game. Also when I'm in this game, I feel like I'm actually in a world - like a real thriving living world. It's hard to explain this if you haven't played it. There is so much to do in this world its hard to put it into words. The way you can choose from 120 different classes, and respect them at any time has a lot of value to me as well. The PvPing is done right, the crafting in this world is mind blowing. How you can own your own property, your own home, your own garden or farm and raise crops and animals - the sandbox in me loves this. What other MMO can you build a sea fairing ship and sail across the ocean? And if you do you run the risk of pirates (who also are real people). Last night I decided to jump into the ocean with a row boat and just row until I found land and then I was going to explore that land. I got killed my a giant Jellyfish making the trek.. LOL. I love the justice system where if you break the laws of the land enough you go to court and are on trial by a judge and jury of your peers. I could go on and on about this game. I am just excited about it like I haven't been in years. Oh one last thing, if you ever play, wait until you get your glider and you go jump off your first cliff and you get to fly...........

I am not writing this post to tell people to go spend $150 on this game. But what I am saying is when this game is released and its free to play, then you need to give it a try because in my opinion this game is a game changer!

Great to see you enjoying this amazing game. ArcheAge is the step in the right direction that we have been needing for years. Games like ESO and Wildstar don't even begin to compare with ArcheAge.

It is as if you could read my mind and make a post for me. Your post really nailed exactly how I feel about ArcheAge

Dang. I really want to try it. Been following it since it was in early beta in Korea. Just don't have the 150$ so I shall wait. It's nice to see so many good reviews about a game on these forums. Not just this thread but many others have way more positive feedback about the game

Hey there and I really hope you keep enjoying the game,

Myself and a french mate of mine where literaly the same way trilled as you mention into your nice post.

So when OB started of the Russian we directly started to play and we even payed for a sub.

I must say that after 1 month of gameplay I pretty much got bored of the game, im a sandbox player but I dont really find alot of the aspect so called "sandbox" the crafting is nicely made and hands down 1 of the top together with the farming and such.

Its just that it isnt enough for me and well literaly I found the combat quite a bit dissappointing.

Anyway I hope you can still enjoy yourself for a longtime :-)

Nice post, I feel the same way about Elder Scrolls and Wildstar. I will probably purchase a cheaper founder pack to try beta to check Archeage out for myself. Looks very interesting and I hear a lot of good comments. Just hope that my gamble in this game will be better than ESO, which is a nice game but not my cup of tea.

I have been invited in Archeage alpha for quite some time now, but i can't get past this boring combat. Especially after playing ESO and Wildstar. All the content and features seem good and all but i can't stand this kind of combat anymore.

Imo AA could be improve alot, yes its true.

One of the things i really hope that hapened in close future is more devs doing games on this path, because i think this is the right one. (my opinion ofc).
