This game is literally sucking my soul away. Without even realizing it - I literally played AA all night and day, yesterday. Been a while since that has happened. Sweet..

So glad I am retired...I can't stop playing this damn game.
If you want a new idea, go read an old book.
In order to be insulted, I must first value your opinion.
The game looks really well done from what I've seen of it, and a lot of fun. I can't swing the alpha price right now but I will certainly be picking up the beta package soon and waiting for access hopefully in June or July.

IMO the tales of griefing are greatly exaggerated...
The way the PvP works is that the main PvE zones after level 30 have "peaceful periods" and "war periods." During a peaceful period, you can't be attacked AFAIK. So you can PvE to your hearts content with no griefing. During a war period, the zone normally turns into a huge warzone of PvP, and I think that is fun too.
So I mean, if you don't want to be "griefed" just don't go to a zone during its war period. The peaceful period last like 4 hours or something so it's not like it's that hard to avoid griefing.
There are also zones that are always PvP like the ocean and the northern continent...but I mean the point of those zones is to be PvP, so I don't really see how you can be "griefed" when going to a zone that is meant for PvP.

Not fully true. these areas contain needed materials and meaningful trade needs to travel through always on PvP areas as well.

I doubt you'd ever run out of things to do, as there are many sandbox features. It's not a full temepark.
Then again i'm answering to someone who trolls every AA thread.
There is always something to do in most themeparks. its just a matter of if it is compelling to do so. And that all depends on the player.
True but one of the sanboxes trait is player made content. You don't have to rely only on devs to release content, you create it yourself.
The sandbox is an illusion. A dev still has to program what you can do in the sandbox which means yo have to wait for devs to release stuff for you to do. No matter what you can only do what the game allows you to do before a programmer has to step in.
Same here. I can't remember an MMORPG I wanted to play this much in a very long time, and approaching level 20, I know next to nothing about all the things the game has to do!
I work all day and only play at night, and i need to start force myself to go bed early because im not that young anymore and the lack of sleep is starting to hurt.
Doesnt matter how many hours i play, it allways seams is not enouph.
I need to go back to previous games i was playing for my health,

Oh don't worry you will see a lot of those ESO defenders coming to these forum over the coming weeks. They will have pathetic excuses on why they don't play ESO anymore. Fact is they will try and hide their over fanboyisum of the game and then proclaim AA as the next best mmo. These people are called journey mmo followers they can't help but hype any new shiny mmo. They are the scourge of the mmo genre and everything what's wrong with mmo's today.

True, but it still isn't like you are going to get ganked 24/7 in AA like you would in Darkfall or pre-Trammel UO. A VERY large portion of the world is safe from PvP.
I mean, if you're the kind of person that's going to flip if they get PK'd trying to trade a resource over PIRATE INFESTED waters, then AA probably isn't for you. But IMO, it's the possibility of failure that makes those trade runs interesting.

Not necessarily. A dev programs the actual content and rules of the game, but they do not program the players. Player interaction is what makes sandbox MMORPGs truly interesting.
For example, no dev programmed that a guild of players would declare themselves pirates, claim an island off the coast of Two Crowns as their pirate base, and kill anyone who enters...but it definitley happened:

Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob?

This is why people play sandboxes!
