Games worth subscribing to

TaishiFoxTaishiFox Member RarePosts: 999

Hey guys, just recently got paid and bored as hell, was wondering what you guys think is really worth subscribing to as I don't mind P2P atm.  Was debating about going back to a game I've already played but I get bored of those easily so out of curiosity I'd like to know what games you guys think are worth subbing to if any.  And please don't all say WoW >_> Don't get me wrong, its an ok game but I don't want a thread full of WoW as a response and if someone's already said a game you'd mention then feel free to vouch for it but please don't fill the thread with half a dozen or more comments for the same game if possible.

Also, please don't say stuff like "I don't know" or "none are worth it" or "we don't know what you like" cus the point in this thread is to know what you think and I'll decide based on your feedback and researching the game of your choice, if needed.

Its all subjective without knowing what sort of game you like we really can't advise you. I recommend Hello Kitty online as that seems to meet my expectations of your playing style.

Unfortunately, I don't believe there is anything out there justifying a sub.

Could always check my profile for played games and currently playing.  Besides, I'm more or less asking what you guys think is worth subbing to, especially since there might be games I never thought of trying before.

Not really helpful but thanks for response.

By the way, I do not want more responses like these, just mention games and perhaps why please.

At the moment, I would say that the only mmo worth a sub is Final Fantasy XIV ARR. An excelent game worth trying, that of course is my humble opinion as a WoW veteran. As of today, WildStar open beta is open and well worth a try also :)

With out a set of your previous or current games to judge your likes / dislikes....

Try many of  the f2p versions  first ... then subscribe / shop.  This webpage has A Lot of choices.

Go to "Game List" tab up top and check ratings.

Still keep em coming guys cus tbh WildStar was/is ok to play but still gets me bored sometimes, still would like to know what you think is worth subbing to and why.

Personally I'm subbing and playing FFXIV every day so much that I never have time for any other game single or mmo.

But then again I played FFXI for 10 years and FFXIV since release in 2010.

The games current status is pretty easy to level to cap using few different ways to do so which is good to be able to chose how you level. Endgame is raiding like all themeparks out there so expect grinding.

If you decide to play find a helpful FC(Free Company) aka Guild, I'm in Hyperion and part of a wonderful FC with plenty of people active at end game but always help new players as we are open to all.

As I said in my previous post, all the games I've played are on my profile and too many to list, please go look.  However, this is irrelevant, I want to know what you think.  Please stop posting comments like this guys, its not very helpful.  I understand some of you think  that it should matter but in this case I honestly don't care, I just want to know what you think, that was the whole point in this thread.  Some games I may not like but that'll be down to my own personal choice in the end, just contribute by stating what you think is worth it and I'll decide for myself ok? Thanks.

Well, the only way to know if WildStar is worth a sub is giving it a fair chance in this OB (10 days) by trying out the pvp and a dungeon when you reach lvl 20 (I think). To be honest, WildStar has not convinced me yet, but I am willing to give it a fair shot.

The other MMO that caught my attention is Archage. Heard a lot of good things about it, and might go for a founders pack to try beta, in case WildStar does not meet my expectations.

Currently the only game I sub to is SWTOR.  With the F2P restrictions, it makes it easier.  I am enjoying the game because of the story lines and flashpoints.  I haven't hit level cap so I couldn't comment on endgame.

Darkfall is the only thing I've been subbed to for the last year. Sometimes I love it sometimes I hate it but I can't get enough...

Yeah, I've been playing WildStar on and off during CB and it hasn't convinced me yet either but as you say, 10 days to find out during OB so may as well give it a shot.  Still, would like to know what others think and maybe still considering subbing to something else for the meantime.  Also yeah, I'm quite keen to play ArcheAge but gonna hold off for release or beta invite, ain't going to pay for alpha thats for sure.

I am playing Final Fantasy XIV ARR and GW2. Both are decent games, 1 is sub the other is B2P/cash.

I would suggest either SWTOR or RIFT, depending on what genre you wanted to play. Both are worth a play through, at least, plus you can drop down to F2P when you don't feel like subbing any more.

    Brindell - 90 Warrior - Emerald Dream - US

Eh, I'd never resub to those as both seem good enough as F2P, yes even SWTOR imo is good enough, I've bought some stuff with my CC from my Collectiors Edtition plus bought some more thereafter which is now enough to keep me going as far as I'm concerned.  Anyways, thanks for mentioning.

Theres only 1 game that I have ever thought to be a good buy for subscription. That is WoW. I have played tons of games out there even F2P I usually give a subscription to to help out the company. WoW is the only one that I felt like my dollar went somewhere.

Right now im not sub due to already beating normal SOO last year and not caring to continue and other stuff as well. But I am always happy with the end content WoW has. No MMO comes close to how good end content is. Everything takes no skill at all and im a hardcore player who is always looking for a challenge. WoW only has 1% of players who have cleared all of SOO on heroic so far.

But thats if you are someone like me who likes a challenge and want the best end content out there.

Just a thought, but if you're looking for games to try out, you may want to consider the SOE All Access subscription. That will give you full access to several MMO's now (Everquest 1 & 2, DCU, PS2, Vanguard for now) and a few more coming up (Dragon's Prophet, Landmark, EQ: Next, H1Z1). I don't think any of those current games are worth a sub by themselves, but as a group, if you have enough time in a month to play more than 1, I think it's a pretty good deal.

There is no reason to even consider subbing to Rift, the game is fine as f2p.  I would disagree with SWTOR though, its better as a sub.

Since 15 bucks is around the cost of going to the movies, any game thats going to give you a few nights of entertainment is worth a sub.  I would highly recommend EQ2.  But again with that one you might find f2p good enough.  But a sub to EQ2 gives you a sub to EQ and DCUO as well so its the best bang for you buck if you play multiple MMOs.

Elder scrolls online is a good game, there is a lot to do, most classes can do anything and crafting is pretty fun. Some people here might not like the game for what ever reason but ESO is a winner in my book. Soon they are releasing more content for 12 man dungeons. The game has some bugs but nothing that I experience as game breaking.

Vendetta Online is certainly worth the sub to me (I pay $7.67 US per month for 2 accounts).

Games that I feel are worth a sub fee from fun/content:

    EQ1

    Rift

    DAoC

    ESO

Honestly past those 4 I can't think of another game I would be willing to pay $15 a month for.

    Currently Playing: ESO and FFXIV
    Have played: You name it

OP if you are feeling adventurous and tired of the no freedom themeparks give Darkfall a try.  Been subbed since last July and I still enjoy logging in everyday.
