It's a single server that creates new world instances as needed.

Which means that seeing more people could also be the result of fewer people playing, and therefore fewer world instances.

You can't notice anything with the way the server is designed.

There's definitely more people in Greenshade this week, I have noticed too. Literally, so many people that it gets annoying at times.

    Currently Playing: ESO and FFXIV
    Have played: You name it
If you mention rose tinted glasses, you better be referring to Mitch Hedberg.

Or maybe we just decided to stop being lazy and finally started leveling again XD

At least that's me so far!!  Early access ...and I finally hit level 18 on 2 toons!! Woohoo!!

It's most probably because the majority of the initial launch population is now in that 25-35 level range. It will make those zones very busy, just like the starter zones were super busy during the first 2 weeks.

Don't be fooled by the "special snowflakes" that reached VR10 a week ago and are now loudly complaining about a variety of issues. They are a tiny fraction of the player base.

Hmmm I have to disagree strongly.

My main guild out of 78 members have only have 4 online over the past week.

My 3 trade guilds out of 500 members each, they are averaging 25-40 members online at any given time.

It is extremely obvious the game has lost at least 50% of its players as the subscriptions kicked in and from what I am personally seeing I would say its closer to 75%.

I do know that most of the players that have capped are working on alts, and maybe what you are seeing around level 29, is those 2nd characters on their way up.

Or maybe you are seeing vets running around filling in achievements, see a lot of that going on in lower level zones.

agree..most have moved higher up. I was playing yesterday on EU and US. It was kind of late yet only passed 4..

There are always some in cities yet.. it should not be that dead for a 1 month old. Try EU..if you are not playing prime time its dead. Yet you come across TONS and TONS of bots.

They need to do a huge rollback for all the dupes people did and to fix the never ending bots and gold spam. w/w/w ..thats so hard to block for ESO I guess

The population levels are like a bell curve. You're just seeing the largest part of curve in that 3rd zone now.

I play in the VR 1-5 zones mostly now when I PVE and there are also many more there now. That's the high end shoulder of the curve.

I was there last night gearing up my second VR character in the Crow's Wood public dungeon. When I went through there the first time with my Sorc, there were maybe 4 or 5 of us farming wolves.... last night it was more like 30 :)

The fact that players don't know how many instances are running - it's impossible to know if there are more or less people playing.

We don't even know the max number per instance before another copy is brought online.

The only thing that is known are Cyrodiil campaigns -since they are static for months at a time and hold a max of 2000 players each.

All other instances are just 100% guessing.

Even that is guessing since a) not everyone PVPs and b) contrary to popular belief there are many more than 2000 assigned to the a particular campaign. 2000 is just their desired maximum capacity at once in the whole of Cyrodiil,

Case in point.... I took my noob level 15 archer to Cyrodiil for the fist time the other day in a campaign that is never full, Bloodthorn (US.)  happened to glance at the scoreboard after I had a couple of hundred APs and I was listed as 5,500 and something in the scoreboard.

The only thing I can add is that I have been hearing a lot from the VR folks that some of the PVP has been slowing down.  That, added with the fact that levelling through those levels has manifested itself to be a little more difficult now, might have caused a lot of people who weren't spending a lot of time in the PVE side of the game to come back.

That or those who suddenly realized that they may have levelled too fast could have broken out their alts to try and take another stab at getting VR with a few more points under their belt.

I did notice too that there were a lot of people in Rivenspire today.  Way more than in the last week actually.

Indeed, and once that "centre peak" of the bell curve reaches VR1, there's a very high likelihood that the veteran XP-rate will be increased to encourage players to keep going. ZOS will want to keep as many of the "average" players onboard as possible (for as long as possible), because they represent the bulk of the sub revenue.

Cannot tell how many are playing but yesterday I was quite surprised seeing so many people in the first veteran area. I just got there and even double checked if they truly are players from my own faction. Then again that megaserver thing could just pack the last remaining players together because Zenimax hasn't revealed any numbers concerning sales and retention rate.

Every MMO peaks in the first one or two months, then the content locusts leave and the population settles down. So surprising if that is the case, but yes the zones I am in are quite full.

That's one way of reading it.. The other is that interest has grown steadily since June 2, 2013. Beyond FFARR. You guys...
