Looking for a crafting MMORPG

I haven't played any MMORPG's in quite some time, and looking for a good one to get into.  With so many though, it's hard to find one that fits what I'm looking for.

-Crafting along the lines of Ultima and SWG.  Tons of craftable goods and classes, not just a couple.

-PvE, I don't like PvP

-Able to just pick and choose abilities like in two aformentioned games

Any suggestions?

You want crafting, right, then you my friend want A Tale in the Desert. ATITD is crafting, hell, the only PvP in the game is to defeat 6 people, and that's to complete a discipline.

    Link right here

I do like combat and monsters and what not, I just happen to enjoy alot of crafting as well.  I don't even mind grinding.

Doesn't Horizons have a deep crafting system?

Keep an eye on Roma Victor, it will have the most in depth crafting system IMO.

    Crafting....*rubs her hands together* Jesssh.

Well, there's WoW ( World of Warcraft ).
In this one you can have two major professions:
Mining, Skinning, Herbalisim, Enchanting, Skinning, Blacksmithing, Leatherworking...
I'm sure there are a few others, I just can't list them all.
*But* you also get free secondary professions.
    Fishing, cooking, etc.

The thing I love about WoW so far is that you don't have to go PvP if you don't want to.
It's out there for those who want it, but it doesn't have to be an every day hassle for those of us who don't.

    Horizons.
Horizons is a beautiful game that I just couldn't stick with.
I played a dragon, perhaps as my first character that was a mistake to start with...
But craft-wise I had a lot of fun.

    Saga of Ryzom.
Now, here, you're all set in crafts. The thing that I absolutely adore about Ryzom is that you can be *everything* on one character. You can craft everything...I would list it all but I think that would be moved into the SPAM forum, hehe.

I just suggested this in another thread, but I'm going to say it again here.
F r e e T r i a l s. Go. Find them. There are a ton of games out there right now with free trials. WoW has one, Horizons as far as I know has one, Ryzom has one.
Get on a trial and see if you like it *before* spending money. It's the best way to see if you like the game, etc.

Good luck, hope you find something that fits what you're looking for!

EQ2 has one of the best crafting systems I have ever experienced.

Right now, It would be EQ2. You can play EQ2 and have a lot of fun and never go adventuring. The only adventuring you have to do is battle mobs while harvesting your resources. That allows you to acheive the levels allowing you to enter higher level areas to harvest higher level resources.

It's just me, so open the door.
