Originally posted by An4thor I wouldn't expect black desert here for other 2 years seeing how long it took with AA, and how long is taking with blade and soul..
Neighter of these games had a developer which wanted to bring the game to EU/US hard enough! Archeage took pretty long, because Trions had big problems internally. The game itself also took very long to develop over 6-7 years (even though they used the cryengine! Regarding B&S, well its already out in Korea for too long - don't know why they don't bring it here...
However Pearl Abyss (Black Desert) are already announcing that they are seeking a publisher and they already have one for Russia. So even though the game has just left Closed Beta 2 and was only in develpoment for 3-4 years (with their own engine!), it seems they work much harder than the other ones - so I wouldnt say it will take that long...
A release in late 2014 or mid 2015 is totally feasable... especially after I have played the beta and saw myself how polished and smooth its running already...
Currently playing: Archeage Waiting for: Black Desert

Really? I would say that videos and information should be used along with forum discussion. What's wrong with asking others for their experience with the game to see if there's anything that stands out for you? My god... Some folks are so cold around here.
Opinions are opinions. Watching a video will give SOME view of the game, but unless the video is hours ong it wont get it all.
I have over 80 hours in and am not quite level 40. I havent PvPd or done any major exploring yet, or fishing, or diving, or major crafting. Still getting the basics down actually.
There are hundred of hours of stuff to do n several different fronts. They dont feel like a grind either.
But if you polled every single player in the Alpha I would say that over 90% of them (I would say more but there are thousands of people playing) would have a positive answer. I imagine more than half would drool and froth atthe mouth like total fanboys about the game.
Its basically what ESO should have started out as in development and expanded on. Its not quite Vanguard but its close with much better performance and graphics.
But its one of those rare games where there is something you hate about one aspect of it you can go find something totally different to do and not think about the thing you hate (thats why WOW was a blockbuster). Not everything is awesome but there is so much that you can skip around things you dont like and focus on the things you do like.
But if anything the fact that the forums arent filled with people talking about it says one thing, the people who got it are playing it and not sitting around forums. I am only here because I am on the airship doing a trade mission.
all im gonna say is yes i had the extra money so i went ahead and got it and i actually enjoy playing it, I would suggest to see if you have the extra 150 to spend and personally its up to you.
