Every game I've played has those. After a while you just realize it's part of the scrolling chat scenery in every mmo.

    LOL all opinions are welcomed.

And yeah, to anyone else, feel free to split them up however you want.  If I was just talking about age or whatever this would be a boring string to respond to.

I've seen a lot of "older" gamers, old being 40 plus. Not sure if this is because of the game or just because MMORPG gamers are simply aging.

Most of my regular gaming guild gave ESO a whirl, ranging in ages from 30 to 60, but interestingly enough none of the 20 somethings did.

Must be off playing GTA5 or their MOBASn

It has been those who are over 30 that get what TESO is trying to do. If you are younger than that you have been brought up on a diet of easymode gaming systems which make you demand that every new MMO is just as easymode. There is only one template, which they often complain about, but if you move away from that template they complain even more.

According to my information, the only ones still "playing" are the original people recruited by Dr. Paul Sage in the wilds of Alaska; a cryptic program simply known as "The Bethesda Experiment".  Though admittedly my information is a little sketchy, due in part to the secretive nature of the project...

One of my main complaints about ESO is that it's even more easymode than anything in recent memory. 95% of the game is soloable and the group stuff is extremely easy. Even the PvP is the most casual style of PvP, giving average players a refuge in zergs. I view this game as one of the most easymode games ever created and yet here you are acting like it's... what... difficult? As difficult as old games? I mean, the map alone should tell you just how easymode this game is - Quest Helper comes default.

The guild I'm in has quite a bit of people that are 30+, usually mmo vets. I'd say the other largest portion is university students like myself

Pretty much this. Most of my guild members (Dovah Miin, Latin American guild, +250) range from 25 to 55.

I think its targeting story focused and/or more RPG or old school MMOers that are just tired of hub based questing, raid grinding, or instanced battlegrounds. From an age perspective, def much older average gamer than Wildstar for example just by the way the talk about the game alone. I think they would have a larger demographic if they added more sandbox elements or more dynamic type of events beyond the static anchors. Anyway, I am their target and enjoying it, but I want improvements.

Hah, I walked away from the string for a day and I come back and half the front page has been mod edited.  What manner of comedy gold did I miss there?

Seriously though.  My original purpose for putting this up is because I feel like the game does a lot of things for a LOT of different kinds of players and I wanted to see who agreed, not to have it turn into some kind of roast, although come on man, humor does have it's place :)

We do not fear humor.  Humor is our friend.  It maketh thick our skins and provides us with protection from the wilds when there are not churches.

No idea what I just said their but it sounded cool.  Dot Dot Dot.

How is this game any harder than any other current MMO?

It's got map markers, fully uncovered world map, easy solo quests, click-to-make crafting etc

I really can't see what you're getting at with your post

You know, I'm 50/50 on this and only because I know some people personally who really struggle with the twitch.

I don't think that any game can come out with that kind of interface yet and really demand a high degree of proficiency from its players without hurting its bottom line.  That's why I agree with you that it is easymode but I also agree that to those over 30 who have muscle memorized the old ways of controlling a game and are less apt to want to learn a new way, it might come off as MORE difficult at the same time.
