Square Enix ID locked on PS4 - Help!

Hey, 

 

So I recently decided to come back to the game and thought I'd try playing this time around on the PS4. Before resubbing my original account I used a new account that I had laying around with a free 30 day trial on it to log in via my PS4 (just to try it out again for free before making the commitment). Now that I've resubbed my original account it won't let me change the Square Enix ID on the login screen of the game. It's literally locked in there. I've tried contacting SE multiple times about the issue but they're incredibly unhelpful (go figure) with resolving the issue... I've tried deleting the system data and character data within the PS4 system but with no luck. 

 

Have any of you encountered this problem and found a fix for it? I'd be very grateful to anyone able to help.

  • So, what I think is that SQEX Accounts bind to your PSN account, if I'm not mistaken, seeing as I couldn't use my account to log onto my friend's console with FFXIV.

    Thus (and don't take this as absolute fact),  it might be that you can't bind a new SQEX ID to your PSN.

    I'm not sure, but might be..

    What I would do is to try to cancel/delete the trial account on SE's website. Another thing, If you were playing on PC in the past you need to buy the PS4 version and link it to your account. Now I've never done this myself but this is what I remember reading while browsing awhile ago.
