50 things I like about ESO.

AsariashaAsariasha Member UncommonPosts: 252

There is enough dislike and hate out there. I think it is time to share positive experiences with ESO. So, I made a small list of what I like about ESO. Lets' go:

I like the more realistic, rough and beautiful art style.

I like the difference in art styles of the 3 factions. Wintery mountains to dry deserts.

I like that there actually is something to explore besides running down the main quest route.

I like that the game has a day night cycle.

I like the weather system.

I like how the cities are composed.

I like that the game has a somewhat slow pace. It reminds me of progressing in Vanilla DAoC.

I like that NPCs in cities speak about me and my efforts for the faction.

I like the beautiful details of houses or for examples large statues.

I like that I can enter almost every single house.

I like the ambient sounds. Roaring thunder when it storms, cicadas in plains or the simple rain.

I like the unbelievable good music score.

I like the transistions and use of background music and sounds. I have them still enabled!

I like the harsh language some NPCs use.

I like that there are travelling merchants that I can save.

I like the stories and connections between different stories.

I like the difficult decisions I have to make in certain quests. Make her a vampire to save her life?

I like entering a tavern and the look & feel in it. Music, boozed people.

I like the impact some quests have.

I like the phasing and what it does to the game world after having made a decision in a quest.

I like the small dungeon delves. Hop in, grab a shard, kill a mini-boss, loot him and get out.

I like the big public group dungeons. Great stories, challenging opponents nice rewards.

I like the unique beautiful look of public group dungeons and instanced dungeons.

I like the instanced dungeons. They become very challenging, especially in Veteran Ranks.

I like that there are special drop item sets with interesting but not imbalanced traits.

I like the great voice-overs.

I like the simple UI and that we are allowed to use add ons to individualize it.

I like how sometimes quest NPCs approach out of nowhere.

I like the variety of opponents. From humans to ghosts to demons. Everythings is there.

I like the skill system. It allows different playstyles with the same character.

I like the morphing of skills allowing me to specialize.

I like the hints in the achievement list on how to for example find certain skyshards.

I like that I can react on opponents special attacks by dodging or interrupting them.

I like the treasure maps and the nice loot you find in the chests.

I like that you have to actively block or dodge and that the defense is increased by passives.

I like crafting and that it allows me to make my own top notch gear.

I like the idea of must having to read motifs to be able to craft different racial styles.

I like the approach of having to research traits in real time to be able to craft other races designs.

I like how the visuals of items change when you upgrade your crafted items.

I like that I can use drop items for salvaging.

I like that the storage space limits you in crafting but that good organization allows you to do all.

I like that there is no global auction house. I made nice profits by comparing different markets.

I like the possibility to own different horses, to specialize them and see their appearance change.

I like the alliance versus alliance warfare.

I like that in alliance warfare tactic decisions actually matter.

I like the thrill I'm having when exploring behind enemy lines.

I like being able to solo, small group or zerg in alliance versus alliance.

I like that there are actually many kind players you can play together with.

I like how quickly the DEVs address our reports and issues.

I like that the game uses a sub-model and does not try to rip me off like some F2P-MMOs try to.

What do you like in ESO?

Nice list.  In particular, once you get wrapped up in the story, the decisions that you're asked to make in the quests can feel compelling.  There was one, involving Razum-Dar, that had me hovering over the button for a long time and second-guessing myself for a day.  A game with writing and story that can draw you in like that is doing something right.

Music kept me playing trough 50 levels and 5 veteran zones....
Then out of the blue.....the magic was stolen by zenimax.......

For me out of that list the most important thing is the exploration aspect of the PVE. This is to me what puts this game in front of all other themeparks most of which are hub based or really have no reason to explore other than chasing datacrons.

    There Is Always Hope!

I like that I can play my character the way i like to. Right now melee when soloing and caster healer in groups.

It functions just fine.  Not liking a thing is not the same thing as it being broken.  Now, back to the actual thread, rather than the people trying to play games for free.

I also like the lore - ESO lets you see a lot deeper into their ideas about races like the Khajiit.

The list made me sad. There are so many things on the list we used to take for granted as being part of a MMO, now they are so rare they get trumpeted on a list of likes.

But deservedly so, TESO has reintroduced some old school elements and they are making it the solid game it is.

-I didnt like the game but I will say this- It is gorgeous and has a very nice 'epic' feel while exploring.

To me- The graphics and art style were top notch.

I will give it props for top notch voice acting as well-

Hated the game but will give credit where credit is due.
