Hey does anyone know anything about the Dungeons and Dragons Online game? I think it's still being tested or something like that, but it sounds really cool!image

I think that D&D will be game like Guild Wars  so it wont be really MMORPG. Players will just choose party and play in , for example 8 or bigger party. But I think the game will be good becouse of graphics and good role - playing system

i played the beta for this game and it is very much not an MMO. It does feel more like Guild Wars. The combat isnt very interesting and honestly this game is lacking a lot that makes an MMO what it is. The game has no pvp, no crafting and that leads to the lack of a good player economy. Im not sure what niche this game is aiming for but honestly I just cant see playing this game over some of the better titles out there. The game is like neverwinter nights without the story....sounds bad? thats because it is.

I was hoping this game was going to be new and innovative but it misses the mark pretty hard. I played this game for 3 days and just gave up on it. Maybe I should have stayed longer but honestly its like reading a book if 50 pages into it you arent interested put it down because its not going to get better.

The game is supposedly very true to its origins.  I like the idea they've taken with the combat.  You control when you use your shield to block an attack, you control each attack motion...mainly i think this game is geared toward hardcore D&D fans.  Should be worth a shot.

Only it's not true to it's origins...at all. When the devs made this game they coddled the powergamers, so all things D&D were thrown out the window, and it's become a l33t fest. The game is like Guild Wars with no PvP only you can't solo AND they want to charge you a monthly fee. There is even less content in this game then Guild Wars if you can believe that. Very sad. The game is nothing like actual D&D, not even close. It's even more sad because you'lld think that a game built off of Dungeons & Dragons would be the best MMO ever made. It's nothing like the original two D&D MMO's, what a shame.

we all know D&D started this all ... but ddo is missing to much off the bat... 1st is no crafting (with no intent to include after release) ... 2nd is no pvp (with no intent to include after release) .... 3rd is i could be wrong here but i have not seen any mention of player housing ... i hate to knock ddo even before it comes out.. but i like the whole player crafting system( even tho they should never craft the best stuff) and the fact they have ZERO pvp just gives me nothing to play for unless we are talking rare drops .... still no pvp to use them for tho and im not a pvp freak.... just like to be able to stir some trouble ... i wish the best to ddo tho but im not buying

    uh huh

Okay so it is not really an MMO...but as for PvP and crafting, well they weren't in the original game anyway. This game is about adventurering, figuring out puzzles and not always beating up the Monster. Sometimes in life you have to know when to run, the same is true for D&D.

It is far more of a thinking game than a bashing game, as an avid D&D player in my youth I just hope it stays true to the original and doesn't end up like many Films based on Books, which don't fulfill expectation.

If it does remain true you will find a solid hardcore following....

I dont not know where you assume this is a thinking man's RPG MMO, its not. I have tested the Game up to last week. Its all hack-n-slash with some minor thinking. After you learn where all the traps and MOBS are in the Instances, you have no problem repeating each mission.

They really messed up a prime race in the game ( Warforged).

They apply spell point system to the Players characters, but yet the MOBs have unlimited casting and such abilities. All it is is a MONTY HALL campaign set with great graphics and repeatable modules.

Its more/less a Diablo type game with realtime combat.   SWING SWING SWING till its dead.

Max lvl 10. My lvl 7 Dwarf Fighter was able to take on 2 hill giants at one time without any trouble cause of Min/MAx  set-up and ability to gain +4 gear early in the game. Very disappointing to a D7D fan who has been playing since 1983 ( pre- AD&D).
