Wasteland 2: Release Slated for August

Fans of Wasteland will be pleased to hear that Wasteland 2 will be released this summer in August. According to inXile developers, this is the game that has been waiting two decades to see the light.

The highly anticipated, post-apocalyptic turn-based Wasteland 2 offers an alternative history. America lays lifeless in the hot ashes and radioactive embers of a deadly nuclear holocaust and players must take command of an elite squad of desert Rangers, formed in the time-honoured tradition of the Texas and Arizona Rangers.  Setting out across post-apocalyptic and treacherous landscapes players try to help the last remaining remnants of humanity in their struggle for survival against hordes of desperate bandits, insane criminals, decaying mutants and much worse.

“It’s exciting to be in the home stretch on a game I’ve been wanting to get to for the last two decades. The feedback from our backers on the early beta has been great and I’m proud of the way Wasteland 2 is shaping up. The scope of the game is immense with a word count that is greater than The Lord of the Rings novels and a solid 50 hour+ game experience that has diversity from beginning to end. My goal has been to over deliver on our backer’s expectations for Wasteland 2,” said Brian Fargo of inXile Entertainment.

Awesome news indeed! Wouldn't it be great if they included the original game as a "bonus" to fans? Oh well, an old gamer can dream.

If you buy the digital deluxe on steam for 59.99 you get the original. This game looks cool but I don't know if I want to drop $60.00 on it. Wish I would of seen the kickstarter for it.

The 59.99 was the price to get into the alpha

they said the game will be 29.99 when its released and comes with the original so well worth it

YES!!! Finally a date.  The second half of this year is looking very good indeed.  This, Dragon Age Inquisition, Pillars of Eternity... looking very nice indeed, even though there is bout utter crap for MMOs this year.

Yep, all over this. However, the original has been available on gog.com now for a few months plus. Grabbed it on sale a bit back.
