Archage is hybrid sandbox+themepark game that nearly launch in NA but I have played it from Korea server, this game is mediocre at its best imo, but the game has nice features tho, but in the end it's total grind&gank fest all over the server.
Look forward to EQNext but the class system with soft-trinity role is really concern me.
BTW pure sandbox game would be unplayable and chaotic. Also nowadays children won't play sandbox games - they need arrow that shows you direction of quests.
What sandbox means to me: full loot, HUGE death penalties, skill systems, housing, open world dungeons and open world pvp with criminal, PK system.
Edit: Also if you want AAA open world pvp go play Age of Conan at blood and gore server. Even cities (only "capitals" are) aren't guarded

I am playing Arche Age right now, it is definitely open world PvP and is definitely Trip A. Also a very good and entertaining game.
Age of Wushu is not a Sand park, not at all or by any definition. Sorry, get over it. Ir is a themepark with farming and housing (planned housing last time I played it).
The Repopulation will most likely be 'the' sand box for those that want quality, and heaps of well thought out features. I know it will have a mission system, and 'safer' areas, I am not positive it will qualify for a 'sandpark' title, but it seems interesting enough to me to cater to a lot of different play styles. Also it is a triple A MMO with open world PvP...so whichever paste eater made that statement...
If you want a new idea, go read an old book.

Arche Age is similar to that. The death penalties aren't that bad, no full loot and SWG was a full Sand park game and it was very playable and not chaotic at all, until they ruined it.
You are correct in one aspect, not many people any more would play the type of shit heap you describe, mainly because it isn't fun being camped by little kids with not better to do than be little internet bullies. They may have worked back when MMO's were just getting popular but nowadays, no.
Albion online? Lmao how cute great example of a not triple a MMO.

Right. Also, Porsche isnt a car, because it has no backseats.

Yeah, that is what I talked about, people throwing words around without any sense...
"Sandpark" is an empty, meaningless term, a creation of running mouth.

Actually, 'sandbox' and 'themepark' have some meaning or connotation to them. The only thing 'sandpark' means is that the person using the term really doesn't understand much about how MMO are designed.

Indeed.
People mostly do not even understand what actually design is...they mistake design for features thus you get invented meaningless terms such as "sandpark" = list of x features.

Sandpark is just a fusion of sandbox and themepark design elements. A good majority of MMOs would fall into this category as most are not distinctly sandpark or themepark. (If you could even nail down the finite definition of what a Sandbox or Themepark is).

Reharshing what you already said plus throwing out some more meaningless, empty term... I am wondering what you are trying to achieve there.
