Omeed Dariani and Terry Michaels have taken to the airwaves to answer the latest question posed to the EverQuest Next community recently. The question asked the about what they would like to see at SOE Live 2014. The short answer is "panels" with specific regard to EQN. Check out the video to find out more details!

I know what your saying, as I like the ideas of Landmark, but am more excited for Next, BUT, I don't think it is a case of not listening. They cannot get into specifics, until they have specifics working. Hopefully they will have their visuals nearly done, as they wait on the technical aspects to get hammered out.
From older news, unless something has changed, they have pretty clearly said what was going to be in Next, I myself am hoping they get rid of the 4 skills tied to a weapon and make it 8 skills out of 2 classes you can merge, or even make it more open. I do not like to play shuffle your weapon.
They said the combat, good or bad will be a little moba based and have action aspects.
Quests, you will be able to get quests for a area, from a central person (they will have factions, so you will not be able to do everything), and not have to run around to individuals.
These things could all change, but that is what they have thrown out there with a lot of other stuff.
I like SOE (warts and all) but i tend to agree
they gave us general EQN concepts last year
-- and this year... it's... more general concepts !

Big concept/general idea panels (PVP, AI, Combat, Classes, etc) on EverQuest Next
EQ2 fan sites
I have been defending the stance Landmark is building EQN so lets not get to upset. But when that video came out I have to admit I was very disappointed =-
Anyone else here notice the ass kissing in this video? Dude has no self respect. Knows he is lying and is taking it from behind. I'd rather be a hermit than sell out like that. EQ NEXT isn't even close to next. I am guessing, the way they are using Landmark as a shield to inquiries, they don't even have a base model of EQ next. Go fish.
Honestly surprised they even bothered with this question/video unless they are playing it a bit safe with the vid response or I'm reading into it way too much.
"Hey fans, what do you want?" "Awesome, we won't be showing that" is just asking for trouble. Hopefully they do give some "new" details about EQN and make it clear how Landmark's development will translate into EQN as it seems many are still confused.
As with all their polls, it seems they already have the "correct" answer beforehand and usually can justify it due to their vision of the game (races/classes/lore/etc) but dangling new details in front of fans and then not show it isn't very nice. Time will tell.
Last year was a lot of new info on EQN and less on Landmark. No doubt they will flip it around this year, but hopefully as they go point by point, they can draw clear connections between the two.
Would be disappointed if it is just rehash of old news and going step by step down the game plan that has been out for months. We don't need to be told over and over that combat, caves, social elements, etc are coming, either show them are don't waste everyone's time.
Land mark is no-where done and since EQ:N uses a lot of its tech you can guess at what stage that game is at...
Gonna be years before we get EQ:N I reckon.... Hope I'm wrong as I'd love to jump back into the EQ universe.... EQII was my longest played game at 6 to 7 years until the cluster that was VG lured me away.. After that I didn't have the heart to go back as I'd forgotten how to play my Fury
Of course they are going to be worknig on getting landmark done first as they are going to release that first.. it does not mean no one is working on EQ:N or that they dont have a working version of it.. but its just not ready for people to see i guess.
0 confidence in this team to produce anything that has to do with pvp.
Quite the opposite. In fact they stated they would be balancing between the two games. In fact, if anything, it favored EQN more as they emphasized how the panels from Landmark will be talking about systems that will also be relevant in EQN.
So many butt hurt, bitter, jaded, resentful, biased, opinionated, uninformed, uneducated posts in this thread from people that probably haven't done the first bit of research on this game.
Guess what, no one gives a frack if you want to miss out on the game. Honestly, no one gives a single frack.
I know, I can't believe how much they have been going on about this being a hardcore ffa pvp game....they look so happy, where is the long hair in their face and death metal blasting in the background.
Just calm down , it a forum what do you expect , milk and cookies ?.
