Recruitment Status and Goals: Recruitment open. Interviews are required. We are aiming to recruit the minimum number of members required to be competitive on Auroria, with the current plan being to close recruitment before reaching 175 members.
TeamSpeak: TeamSpeak 3 is required.
Guild Focus: Open World and Naval PvP, Trading, Crafting, and non-mandatory RP.

Blackthorne and Legend Gaming
Blackthorne has been formed by core members from Legend Gaming, a multi-gaming community with six years of MMO excellence. Legend Gaming requires aspiring chapters to acquire several non-community members before acceptance as an official chapter within the community. At the current time, Blackthorne is functioning as an unofficial chapter as we move into open recruitment. As such, members accepted into Blackthorne will not become official members of Legend Gaming until the chapter becomes official.
Since Legend Gaming was founded, our chapters have always succeeded in multiple games, promoting a spirit of friendship, unity, organization and quality. As part of our mission to become an official chapter of Legend Gaming, Blackthorne seeks to bring that same quality standards to ArcheAge. We will focus in all aspects of the game, pushing for PvP domination, trade supremacy, crafting excellence, and if ever introduced to the game, competitive PvE progression. Upon joining Blackthorne, you are not joining simply a guild, you are joining a family. We are an organization that is proud of it’s achievements and thankful to the loyalty of our members. We are looking for like minded players who value organization, loyalty, maturity and strong leadership. We will need your skill and dedication in our continued journey to the top!

How to Join:
In order to join Blackthorne, an applicant must fulfill these requirements:
- Your main character must be aligned with the guild's faction, Western.
- Your character's name should be lore appopriate (No Dracula, Darth Vader, etc.)
- You must be prepared to use TeamSpeak and be logged into our TS server whenever you are logged into the game (Post-Launch only.)
- You must be 17 years of age or older.
- Understand that you are joining a community, not a guild. Joining Blackthorne is a commitment to become a part of one of the closest, most tight-knit groups in gaming. We are only seeking members interested in socializing and being active with the rest of the community, both after and before ArcheAge's official launch. If you are not looking for a tight-knit community concept then we are not the right fit for you.
- Be an active member of the guild and contribute to guild events, raids, and so forth both pre-release and post-release.
Joining Blackthorne is quite simple. Visit our forum's Blackthorne recruitment section and follow the directions in the stickies. We use a forum based application system. We elected to use this system because we believe an applicant whom puts time and effort into the application process is someone whom will put time and effort into the community. Web based applications are too easily accessed and too easily completed. This application cuts out a lot of the “drive by” joiners. After the initial application, you will be contacted via PM to schedule a TeamSpeak interview.

Player vs Player (PvP)
In past Legend Gaming chapters, our members have been well known for running highly-organized and highly-successful PvP operations. With years of success already under our belts, we are all excited to extend that tradition to ArcheAge as well. In ArcheAge, we plan to participate in all forms of PvP, be it on the ocean, in the open world, or for the keep we plan to own in Auroria. Regardless of what strain of PvP you prefer, you will be able to find a home in our PvP department.

Player vs Environment (PvE)
Legend Gaming guilds always seek to provide all our members with the tools and opportunities they deserve to get the maximum enjoyment possible from their MMOs, and as such, strive to have a department for every facet of the game. Currently, ArcheAge's limited PvE offerings may not be enough to warrant a dedicated department, but if we find there is a need, rest assured that we will continue or tradition of being among the top guilds in the US and the world when it comes to PvE progression.

Crafting and Trading
With the enormity of the role assumed by crafting and trading in ArcheAge, Blackthorne aims to have a proportionately strong showing in these areas. Members will be able to expect a deep and organized crafting department, in addition to strongly protected trade runs.

Roleplay
Our lore is decided and our roleplay department is almost ready to be kicked off. In short, we've decided to pursue a mercenary or bodyguard background with a twist. Inspired by shows like MASH, Hogan's Heroes, and The A-Team, Blackthorne will blend a light-heartedness and subtle comedy with its roleplay to carve out a unique niche within the roleplay community. BlackThorne successfully completed their first transportation contract. Passage was bought from the Crescent Throne in Solzreed Penninsula to Austera in Solis Headlands. A team of 3 Blackthorne Associates, 1 Mercenary, and the client himself set sail and successfully made port in Austera where we were set upon by three Easterners. Two of our own fell in the onslaught, but the remaining managed to slay the would-be thieves and recover the goods, ensuring the client was able to complete his intended transaction.
Tonight we celebrate BlackThornes inaugural contract completion, and here we find the client posing with Hiderplo in triumph.
We're building our list of 50's, be prepared to see us on the battlefields more often!

That trade pack run was one of the funnest things I have done in an MMO in several years. We should have streamed it!
