wow, Cant wait till I can try that out looks like a blast, and the graphics are awsome as always,
Some of these areas look amazing and I'm looking forward to the Achievement system as well.

Ware is that heartsman guy that did the original behind the scenes and the DoF movie, those are allways the best movies with his unexcited semi-monotone voice.

Fromt hat video the expansion looks cool, dungens look amazing, and I thought that shadow place was really cool.

To me it looks like they took the DoF art and the Feerrott art and morphed it together; re-skinned the same old mobs, made another couple of new models, placed them statically around the same sort of dungeons and are calling it an expansion pack...
Looks to me as though they could just break it in half and put it in as two DoF Adventure Packs. Really doesn't look different and interesting enough to me to be a full blown expansion.
But then if comes a few months after DoF, so it's probably made mainly of left-over art, as is sensible sure, but should be, in my opinion, just Adv Packs.
And another selling point for the expansion is new armour designs? Do they really think, 13+ months later, that new armour should be sold and not given out in an update as a way of saying sorry?
I bought DoF out of boredom with MMOs in general. I am going to pass on this one (besides the fact EB Games in Australia said they had no listing for it when I was there last week), because it really doesn't look very interesting.
Hmm wait, we need to buy this content to get AAs right? Any confirmation on what levels the AAs are for yet? If you only get the AAs for 50-70, I think I'll be passing on the expansion entirely, re-rolling on the PvP server and generally wasting my time there until a new, decent MMO comes out.
Sorry... but I just got to say it looks same old 'n stale to me... And yes, I've played EQ2 from release, not a month ago.

Can't follow you there. Alot of the movie is shot from a distance. EQ2 graphics never look good from a distance. It doesn't have a proper terrain engine.
The dragons look terrible! So thin and weak. The Dragon animations are really awful, looks like the dragon has had his ass nailed to the floor, and got some sort of stiffness spell on everything except the wings. I think SOE needs a new animation team.

OH NOES... Nefarian *runs for cover* - nothing SOE can do to make EQ2´s animations even remotly as good as WoW´s -
The gfx looked ok, but one thing that they showed was that SOE still doesnt know how to infuse any atmosphere at all into EQ2, did anyone notice the animations? the overall ambience of the indoors city?
Another thing very wrong with it was the complete lack of "smoothness" on how the video ran, anyone has to believe that SOE was running that on the best machine money can buy and it still ran choppy. Seems optimizing their engine is not even on the priority list for SOE.

Wow, Kemo is bashing EQ2 what a soooprise! One thing you can be sure of if Kemo said "the graphics looked ok" is that the graphics friggin rocked because he is constantly bashing EQ2. Have fun playing your kiddy game WoW.

And the gameplay rocks and you know it. The only thing that's bad is your unwillingness to simply admit you have lied about everything you have said about EQ2. How you have a level 50 SK and that you played the DoF beta. En1gma himself called you out on it and you couldn't step up and admit it.
Prove me wrong, I would love it. Show us your level 50 SK. And another thing, if you had gotten to level 50 and still hate the game as much as you say then, umm, what kind of an ass would play all the way to level 50 a game that he doesn't like??? Either you're lying or you're just not very smart. You pick.
Im not even playing WoW anymore, got bored with the endless MC/ZG/BWL grinding, after my guild killed Nefarian, there was nothing else to aim for
Now im playing a bit of EvE and beta testing a certain game your eager to play.
Tho that certain game has a very long way to go, one thing i can say is that the world itself is very well done, very "medival" and the dungeons look amazing, but bit repetitive, Tho its still the same boring old EQ grind till they add content.
Your right bout one thing i got burned on EQ2, i just plain dont like it or what SOE did with the old Norath
But its all in good fun, everyone shold try games for themselfs first and take good or bad opinions on these or any forums with a pinch of salt.

The actual beta is 100% better if you can afford a computer that is worth having.

I acknowledge your enthusiasm, but I just have to remind you that Horizons was the greatest MMO ever being made through most of Beta, and look how that turned out

I hope for all you Vanguard fanbois that V:SoH is the ultimate EQ1 Redux, but yes, it's in beta, anything the Developer says is going to happen is pure theory until the game goes live and it's included. It's good to think positive, but it's also good to keep in touch with beta-reality. And wait til you start hearing the "... so we are going to be holding off on this element til after release" comments.. *shudders*
Anyways, people enjoy enthusiasm, but honestly, does every EQ2 thread have to end in a comparison to Vanguard?

I got to say, I would love to see a study/thesis/PHD done on the comparison of extreme Religious fundamentalism to extreme MMORPG fanboism. Not saying you've reached that point yet Anarchyart, but no doubting you will. As I probably will over Hero's Journey. I just think it'd make a great study, especially on these forums.

Well first of all how is it sooo hard to belive that someone was in DOF beta (like most of the EQ2 community) and has a lvl 50sk :
You only have to grind and use the same move over and over and you win!
With double xp you can gain xp soooo fast and with my Veteran rewards of a bonus of 52% xp for a certain time thats just a bonus!
Now so what if i don't like the game anymore? i realised that the end game was boring :
When i was in beta (August 2004 i got invite through SOE's family and friends thingy) i thought WOW! The game was amazing at first and then when i got into the city i was disappointed.
Didn't like all the zoning in the cities, didn't like that fact there was 2 cities and hated Antonica! Which is why i eventually went to Freeport because i loved the CL.
I played on the game solo grinding just for the fact that i wanted to see Ferrot and Lavastorm! When i got there tho i was disappointed again with how boring and bland they were.
I soon quit after that.
I'm not saying EQ2 is a bad game, just the world really lets it down. Take Anonica,TS and Nek for example : All really boring places that look horrid.
IoR was the best due to how much detail they put in. Also i miss the boat rides that went from Antonica to TS and CL to nek
Before they were removed in beta.
So go ahead and not belive me if you like :P Shit happens.

The expansion does look pretty awesome so far. I'm sitting here watching everything that happens. Maybe I'll be coming back to EQ2 after all.
I'm gonna wait until a while after it actually releases though, I don't want to spend $30 on another DoF that only lasts for about a month or two.

Maldach's right about the video. If that link led to some sort of KoS trailer, it doesn't any more. It's just some video of a plant thingy you can get for your house if you preorder KoS or something like that.
That's too bad, I didn't get a chance to see the actual trailer..
