I'm really not into housing but in BETA I placed a few items just to test the feature out, it's amazing the amount of customization they have and it kinda grew on me. Having posters of Tales of the Fringe on the wall and all that stuff gave it a bit of a star wars sci fi feeling to the game.

Guild Housing though, that's something I'd really be interested in. It's nice having a spot where all the guild can hang out, duel and just have fun together off raids/warplots.

Considering that they already have dueling plugs available, mini-games, and mini-dungeon features that you can insert into your personal housing plug, I see the potential for Guild Housing already.

I wish they could implement some kind of way to make Guild Housing public though, at least an option to toggle the Guild Housing public where the public guilds would be listed in the housing teleport interface. Otherwise the game will feel pretty instanced and the open world empty. I find it very cool to walk around the main cities and see what all the raiders got as their gear, it gives motivation to get it myself.

Every single game released should mandatory have housing.  If your gameplay and graphics don't cut it, there is a great amount of RPG players who require housing and can overlook some of the games failings just because of their house and the investments they put into their housing in decorations ect.  I don't know why many MMO's just don't get this in the modern days.

Too all the "This game feels like F2P game" The amount of content they have in the game and planed for roll out. 200 staff already working on the post launch content. The have features most new MMOs dont add till 1-2 years after launch. Sub-Worthy. Love the housing system, cant wait to see what they do with guild halls.

It'll be interesting to see what they do with this.

    Agree

If they make a Guild Housing of the same quality as Player Housing, then this will be simple fantastic :)

It is impressive the amount of different areas they have been able to develop that don't seem tacked on at all. It would have been easy to throw housing in as an after thought but this definitely feels like an end game level housing system in that I feel like my real end game will be obtaining items for my housing.

Beware of the shiny fluff used to distract you from what's really missing...

It's not like guild housing doesn't exist in other games... or player housing for that matter... are people still playing those to the same degree they did at launch?

If guild housing or player housing for that matter was the "ticket" to keeping players subbed... people would still be subbed to those games.  In the end... if the game lacks lasting appeal, no amount of guild, player, whatever housing will save it.

Shiny baubles are just that, shiny baubles...

Speaking as a 15 year MMO vet, Wildstar has more Elder game then any MMO I have seen ever. Lacking elder game is by far a problem this game does not have!!!! Then add icing like housing and the content level is through the roof.

I m not misiing anything in this game. Guild Housing is just another great addition to an already full of options / content game. WildStar is getting better and better :)

Wildstar could use a few more dungeons to level up with though. The dungeons (not the adventures, didn't try those) are really good and challenging but there are too few in the leveling process.

If they were crap I wouldn't mind but since they are good, I felt like having more of them to do. The devs said there's a dungeon/adventure for groups to do every 5 levels though so that's pretty good, I just hope the adventures are as good as the dungeons.

Then at level cap everything is available with veteran mode, that will be painfully fun. Raids are epic but they require a good guild and a schedule to follow, not very fond of that.

So much focus on housing and guild housing has left them with no time to develop anything else.  I mean, other than:

    • Veteran Dungeons and Adventures
    • Open World Bosses
    • 20 man raids
    • 40 man raids
    • 80 man raid for final weapon Imbuements
    • 2v2, 3v3, 5v5 Arenas
    • Battlegrounds
    • Warplots (Battle housing including the ability to summon bosses to fight with you)
    • Paths (Reasons to do additional content of your choosing)
    • A crafting system with talents and specializations within a chosen craft
    • Story line that can be done solo, that takes you through the raid dungeons and gives you more lore detail than actually doing the raid.

These are all features that Carbine has developed in great detail.

80 man raid for final weapon imbuements? I was given the idea that you had to kill 2 raid bosses at the same time but with only one 40 man raid.

Also dont forget when you are done the solo leveling story it unlocks an elder game solo story that starts at level 50 thats as big as any story line you get going from level 1-top level in any game. They also plan on updating that end game story so it keeps going to keep solo gamers hooked.

Oh I missed plenty of features indeed.  I just went for the short version because I don't like walls of text any more than anybody else.

This is what makes a sub really worth it.... monthly content updates, that unlike GW2 have actuall content. that players want to play....

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

No elder game content currently in the game. Also their updates planed are mostly static updates. New dungeons, zones and so on. The current content list has more elder game then any MMO I have played in 15 years....

    • Elder solo story unlocked level 50 that going to be updated to keep solo gamers playing
    • Shiphands (Solo dungeon runs you can bring friends on)
    • Zone events
    • Housing
    • Guild Housing Post launch
P.S. Thanks Kaladin for making this list.

They will have events like GW2 that are here today and gone in a month but thats not their main staple. Every month it will be something different. Dont buy it... fine. Wait a 6 months to see the proof. Then join when you see you are wrong and be behind the 8 ball and try and catch up. Because thats fun to =-) More content then you know where to start with =-)

    don't feed the trolls dude.

whoever calls wildstar a free 2 play game, clearly has no idea what he is talking about.
