What’s your reason for diving into WildStar this week? During the recent community meetup in London, columnist Gareth Harmer asked fans that very question.

I doubt their reasons will be the same after the first month is overall and then they will be posting reasons why they jump ship !

I encourage anyone here to post a single game ncsoft has published that either didn't close down or go free to play , with a horrid approach to freeium mmo market. The. See the similar treads that sw:tor left when people got excited for that ! And trust me the Star Wars series has more fans than blizzard has playing wow . It's a simple fact that mmos gear the game with hype and a lot of allure . In which falls off around the first month , then the common player begins seeing what it is , starts to realize it's basically the same candy different wrapper . Quest-level-dungeon-pvp etc... Take away the hype , and the fact that 40 man raids will not work in the end I predict a massive fallout in wildstar within 12 months and free to play model introduced around 2015 . Glad I gotten my money back considering ncsofts track record . That and the fact I have invested to much time , money and effort into wow just to play something else in the end . Don't believe the hype ! Look at ncsofts past and you will see where this game is going

WoW was my MMO and I never thought I'd ever be searching for another game for a long-long time. When Cataclysm hit (and probably a bit before) I felt like the game kind of left me. It just didn't fee like home anymore. I've been searching every since, and WildStar seems to be the place. From the devs to the game design it's exactly what I've been hoping for. After leveling to 50 in the beta, I'm pretty sure it's the game for me. I'm not an MMO hopper that just chases the next shiny thing - I've been looking for a HOME. WildStar really seems to fit the bill for me.

seriously dude, what is your problem? are you in pain when people are enjoying a game you don't play, or why that useless hate?

but maybe you read up abit on the game you post about before you start a 500+ words post next time, just a thought, cos none of your arguments actually made lots of sense, beside "uuuuh i hate ncsoft!"

so, what games, if any, DO you actually enjoy?

"I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up! Not me!"

Guild Wars 1 and Guild Wars 2...

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

I actually played wildstar beta and I play a lot of mmos this is not the first time I heard how great a mmo is , seen fellow guildies jump ship come back .

I don't hate wildstar , I hate players who keep buying into bad game hype at first then post negative crap about it like they knew all along and that them jumping ship was the best thing they ever did .

Please feel free to read other forum threads for other moment during their release then read the threads dating 6 months later .

The trend of month 1 oh this game is god better than wow

Month 2 this game is awesome but it could be better

Month 3 this game needs more content they promised large content and didn't deliver

Month 4 warlords release soon jumps in wow
I like patch 6.0 this is what the game needed

Months after wod wow sucks it's dried up and old. Jumps ship to another wildstar type clone that promises BS

That's my problem with the players not the game . And articles that only add hype not information on both sides that weight on the game from both perspectives of good and bad
  • excursion1excursion1 Member UncommonPosts: 11
Gw1 and 2 are not a sub based game , rather Guild wars is a pay to play thus null from either being f2p or sub game like wildstar .

Lineage 1 is a older model and very unlikely to have a big American market .

If that's all you can provide as evidence ncsoft has a bright future then I can counter

Lineage 2 - free to play
    Aion- free to play
City of heroes / villains - closed

Guild wars is successful due to the payment model it uses subs have declined since

Don't like what I got to say ?

Remember my posts in a few months ;)

And lineage 2 was the only game that ever came close to wow level of subscribers.

    Number 1 reason for me:

It sucked when I first started playing it months ago, just before Winter Beta.  Fast forward to today and the game has changed and grown and been tweaked so much that I find it fantastic and fun to log in and play.  It literally has changed my mind with it's growth process and I can't wait for more.

2nd reason:  The PVP, which I usually only dabble in, in most MMOs, actually has me excited and wanting to do that more than the PVE.  Haven't had that since playing Call of Duty just for multiplayer because it's so fun.  Not dying in 2 hits and the ebb and flow of combat and feeling important to the whole team makes the PVP shine for me here.

3rd reason: The sheer amount of options AT LAUNCH of things to do in the game.   Usually MMOs take a year or more to get half of what Wildstar will have at launch, on top of that it's all fairly well polished.  Yeah, kudos.

I could go on talking about housing, customization, story, challenge, guild incentives, etc.  but that would take all day and put me into Wildstar hype mode that I'm already drowning in as I wait for the servers to go live tomorrow.

For me its easy and one word CONTENT, no MMO in 15 years has released with this much content. For teamed, solo and large scale, PvE and PvP. Goto youtube and look up "Shiphands" solo dungeons you can bring with your friends and they are deep. Tones of different game play mechanics chucked at you. Every area of the game is not just there, its done well.

    CONTENT - ELDER GAME

    Well

not the most popular opinion here - but i am that kind of player and proud of it!!!!

I enjoy jumping between games... my money and if i prefer to play WOW and then leave it for a year for next expansion, while playing Skyrim (not MMO), and TESO for a month or two, then Wildstar and any other game - each playing a bit and coming back to some and not to others - why would that bother you?????!!!!

This is me and how i play and i love me and my playstyle!!!! Deal with it :-)

    Just my 2 cents...

I dont  like or dislike the game, because of my style of play, but does not mean the game is bad, I think the game is great I enjoyed it when I played the Beta. But I am already subscribed to another game. For those who enjoy the game, keep enjoying it.

I like the setting and the humour. I hope to be able to enjoy the dungeons although am seriously scared of healing in it. The characters look so different from any other MMORPG I have so far come across and that is very fresh and creepy in equal parts. I like the world the colours , the lore, setting and dialogue.

i believe Excursion1's issue is how some gamers trash talk their current game when leaving it

only to return a few months later

    been happening long before WOW

-- saw the same thing when EQ used to be the most popular mmo

(EQ players would leave for Anarchy Online, DAOC, Shadowbane, Ashersons Call and return to EQ later)

I'm part of the crowd that purposely didn't play after I was hooked because I wanted to explore it all with a fresh perspective.  Only leveled up one character to 9, the rest just dabbled with to see start zone differences, race differences, etc..  Never got to any of the things like housing, raids, dungeons, ship missions, pvp, etc etc..  Quit certain other sub game awhile back and been looking for a replacement and hope this is it while keeping in mind been there and done that before.  Time will tell but here's to hoping for a good 2-3 year run of Wildstar!

    Your question was the following:

I encourage anyone here to post a single game ncsoft has published that either didn't close down or go free to play

You never told us to NOT list buy to play games. Guild Wars 1 and 2 have not closed down, therefore your arguments are all invalid.
