So i wanted to give the game a try after all, im french canadian, and i wanted to play on the Fr server, wich is on the EU side, so i bought a Eu key from an online retailer, but when i tried to activate my key to my account, i get this error.
The code you purchased is for a different region than your game account. Please contact WildStar Support.
Because the site detected that my ip is not in europe, retailer wont refund and ncsoft wont do anything, so im fcked.
Now im simply just 60$ poorer, only thing i can do is to trade an Eu key for NA.

Well this is not a perfect fix for you but you could always use a simple VPN.
Google Cyberghost5 and DL it from a free DL. See if it works and then you might have a good work around.
I had to use this to DL the patch because i guess Carbine does not realize Alaska is in the USA when it comes to there patcher.

Well, try creating a new Ncsoft account, and add France for exemple, as country. Paying then your sub via Paypal.

I tried, but i found no option to choose the country.
We may as be our own country up here my friend haha
C'mon! Just create an account. Then once it's done, login to wildstar-online.com . Then you will see "CONTACT INFORMATION" . Press Edit. You can change whatever infos you want, including country. Also, try to change your country on your existing account first. Put France, then add the code again.

Are you positive that your account is actually active?
I had this exact error for awhile (and I'm in US), apparantly just applying the code does not make your account active. I had to add a subscription which then activated it and it worked.... not a different region mind you, but still possibly the same issue.

It should be active, i played beta and they let me download it.
Well, with your very limited explication about the situation, I cannot do much.
Last think I recommend you is :
1) Get a socks/proxy/ ... just change your IP is what I mean ( Europe of course ) ( Google : hidemyass ).
2) Create a new email , create NcSoft account, ACTIVATE your account , add Wildstar Key and ..
3) Voila! It should work.
If not, then you are doing something wrong.

yeah , i alway had to deal with english only server (US), or laggy and ghost town at 8+ pm (FR EU)
For me, it's the other way around. I can't stand all the different Languages on the English EU servers, so I bought a US key and used my NA account, I still had from AION.
So at least the other way around works.

If you are in a different country than another who you wish to play WildStar with, both of you must purchase the same type of code (North American or European) so that you will have access to the same servers.
UPDATE: Because of the way our sales site is currently set, you cannot manually choose a code from a different region. To get a code from a different territory, you must locate a retailer in that region and purchase from them. Don’t forget to check if the retailer can ship it to your location.
If you happen to get a retail code (a pre-order or pre-purchase) with a different region as your existing beta-only account and cannot upgrade (you get the “Code Unusable” error), please Submit a Ticket and we will look into the issue for you.
Unfortunately we cannot change the territory or region of the pre-order or pre-purchase code you buy. Once an account is created or upgraded with a pre-order or pre-purchase code, that account region is locked. "
Actually if you've been in a beta for NA your account is NA locked. You can however ask carbine to set your account with EU region, and they probably will if you explain your wishes.
It is worth a shot. Or you can just simply use VPN to create an account and activate the key on it and then play normaly without VPN (Because I think that the client itself doesn't check your region - atleast it didn't for me in beta).

NA - Myrcalus (Oceanic PvE) is the official server (still located in the US though)
Always found it quite strange that We are aligned with NA for mmorpg games.

I read on this forum of people who also got into the wrong region due to the NC soft account being here or there. They were able to get a single free transfer to the other region through support.
I hope they are just bogged down right now, but get to your stuff eventually. That would be sucky support if they'd leave you hanging.
I haven't added a subscription and I can play just fine.
Did you make an EU account? If you went to (just) ncsoft.com you've created a NA account as it IP detects, which would explain the problem.
Try creating an account at http://us.ncsoft.com/fr/ or http://us.ncsoft.com/uk/.
On site purchases are still region locked, so one would end up with an EU account, but a NA product. However you should be able to apply an EU code.
Alright i managed to activate an account, but i still regret my choice, everyone in europe sleeping when i have time to play, and having permanent 1-2 second ping , unplayable, now theres no way they will transfert me. What a waste...
