StraddenStradden Managing EditorMember CommonPosts: 6,696

The developers of Navisaer have not quite announced a Beta test, but they certainly are teasing it! All they the website will say is that the testing phase of their game is coming very soon...

Welcome. We here at banished studios have been working hard for the past year with navisaer, and would like to thank the community for your support.

No dates have been set in stone, but we would like to mention that our beta/alpha testing will begin very soon. we are hoping within the next month, before christmas, to bring you a sneak peak. stay tuned, we will have an exclusive beta center with screenshots/content not shown to the public. if you would like to participate, respectively email rdye@banishedstudios.com.

For more information on Navisaer, click here.

Cheers,

I don't want to burst anyones bubble here but I think someone has been a little too liberal with praises.

Navisaer is being built via a game-making program which generates a game around a few integers you program into it. You essentially just backspace through fighter and write "combatant", change, "new zone 1" to whatever you want the zone called, export a minimal client and server and blam you have an mmorpg.
I'm a subscriber of this program, which is still in it's "work in progress" stage, as well and we're estimated another half a year before before we even see a completed combat script, let alone some decent content.

I expect in the coming months we'll see a rash of new so-called mmorpgs that all use the standard models which come with the software, same buildings, all failing to mention that they are essentially being built by one guy who happened to have 55 dollars at the time and a hacked copy of 3ds max.

Don't buy into any claims that these games will have about "beta testing to come" as many elements such as the character database which stores names, levels, and everything isn't even implimented yet, nor are any of the elements for spells, crafting, or advancement.

Games like this can be made as quickly as you can click on "model", click one of the 2 included buildings, right click to place, and save.

    Beware.

Actually... Navisaer is being made in an inhouse engine that is using Directx 9C so dont be so quick to jump the gun, we are using Realmcrafter to Concept our game and test things.  On that Note Realmcrafter isnt as bad as Verrator is making it sound and it isnt as simple as click here and there to make a game so try it before you say negitive things about it but I appreciate your time you took in looking at Navisaer I hope to see you playing when it comes out.

Actually, ckob is the guy that originally programmed that software you mentioned before selling it to its current owner. Since that time the software has come a long way and is nothing like how you describe it. If he says that he is using his own engine for it, trust me he is capable of doing so. Hope to see this project move forward :)
