Been in a game slump for a long time now, and I figured... "why the hell not?"
So I tried to DL SWTOR again.
Of course, i cannot do that without remembering my username and password, and it doesn't like the ones I had back when I played. I try to use the username recovery, but it takes them four hours to resend the username. After that, it doesn't like my password. An hour later, I have that changed too.
But the game is still unhappy.
So I log into the website... everything is happy until I get to account management.

Thank you for waiting so long, I have tried to find a solution for this and have decided to escalate this issue to specialist, will that be okay?
you
Uh... OK.. I kinda figured this would be routine. What about it requires outside help?
Sandeep
The star wars game has its own group of specialist, i figure it would be best to not waste your time on guessworks.

I either have no email, or got it a very long time ago
you
However, the 2012 online posts directed me to Origin
James
I am sorry to hear that. I understand that you are having issues with your Star Wars The Old Republic account.
James
We'll be glad top help. However, issues with SWTOR are beyond our scope of support. For further assistance, you may contact SWTOR Customer Service at 1-(855)-345-2186. For more info, please check this page: http://www.swtor.com/support#contact-us-form

I am starting to remember why I haven't played in a long time.

What is different between phone support and online support?
James
We apologize for the trouble this has caused. We have a separate team who handles issues with SWTOR. All SWTOR related contacts will need to be referred to the Phone Support number, provided on the official web page.
you
Well, that's an hour wasted, then. Good luck.
Live chat responds that the only way to deal with this is to ... call on the phone.
And just like that, I remember why this game was a massive failcluster. I really didn't think it was possible to screw up worse than SOE... and then Bioware said "CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!!!".

Contact Us By Phone
If you need assistance with your account, encounter a problem while making a payment, or are unable to log in to the game the best course of action is to contact our Customer Service team over the phone. You can contact our team for the price of a local call by calling the numbers listed below:
Please note: Calls made from landlines are local-rate, while those made from mobile devices may be subject to additional charges from your provider. If you're calling from a country that is not listed above, please see this FAQ: www.swtor.com/support/helpcenter/5200 for more information about contacting our Customer Service team.
I would suggest using Skype if you live in a country other than those listed personally
At a guess its likely your account got compromised, given how much info you put in your first post, I would suggest that may well have been the case (Pro-tip account security starts with you when it comes to your personal details). So you might need to give a lot of info in the email.

So because you forgot your login info and password it's their fault? Because you haven't logged in in a few years it's their fault ? About a year ago they got rid of signing in with your email and switched it to user name. Again it's their fault you didn't read this email and forgot your username ?
After long periods away from WoW I had similar issues, did I cry and try to put all the blame on somebody else? Not a chance!

Op that's like having a car that you haven't driven for yrs and calling up the dealer and saying
"I forgot to put oil in it"
"The gas tank has water in it"
"all the seals are dried up"
"Its your fault! now I know why I don't drive this car anymore!"
Waa Waa
Take some responsibility and write things down if you can't remember.. period

I have to applaud the OP....his imagination is off the charts.
He completely fabricated his scenerio and worded it exaclty how a phone call would go....but seeing as people wouldnt believe him if he gave a 3rd party account of his telephone call, he tries to pass it off as if it was a chat.
First of all....chat support analysts don't put your chat "on hold"...it just doesn't work that way....they may ask you to wait a few moments, but they dont ask you to "put the chat on hold".....you have called too many customer support line my friend ....secondly, they don't "transfer you to another chat" lol. Me thinks someone has a little too much time on their hands...you could have at least tried to make it somewhat believable..
I guess you have not done many live support chats. I have been transferred to "specialists" before. I dont know about being put on hold, but some of them can barely type english so I find it plausible for them to get some wording mixed up. The account was probably hacked and online support can not "fix it." They probably want you to call and give out more personal info rather than sending it through the net. I dont know who would go through the troubles of making up a fake chat so I find the OP believeable.
The only reason I am even saying this, is because I run a support center with "chat" capabilities. I am well aware of what can, and cannot happen, as well as "best practices". The OP's entire post is written with the exact wording as if hes on the phone...but I guess thats due to the lack of english with whome hes chatting to, and not his own embellishing though, right?
