Returning player

r0hnr0hn Member Posts: 185

I played for 3 months last year.  My wife picked me up a gamecard and I'm going to login this weekend.

Any advice for a returning player who is old(36) and slow and has a level 33 human warrior, 23 NE rogue, and 21 gnome mage?

My advice is to start a new character on a new server.  I took a 3 month break and just cane back to the game.  I started trying to play my origional character which was a 47 but I just could not remember enough about it to enjoy it.  And besides, all my past friends were now 60 and fully equipped.

I started a new character just to get a fresh start with a new community.  I am enjoying it greatly.  I am taking more time to play the game as opposed to rushing through the game like I previously did.  I am keeping my professions in line with my level.  Fishing, cooking, and all the others match my level perfectly.

To me it just made it more fun to try a different character.  I now play on a roleplay server.  Quite fun although no one roleplays once they hit level 10 it seems.

And since when is 36 old?  I am 27 and still feel like 18.  I am scared to see what the next 9 years are going to bring.image

One goal of mine is to have a level 60 prior the expansion release.  I won't get to play too much, so my only shot might be leveling the level 33 warrior.  You make a good point, I can't remember what my warrior was last doing or even where he logged off.

I felt way different at 27, then I do at 36.  Now I don't feel that old but clearly I'm not as 'speedy' as I was then.  Maybe having a wife and 1 year old now is the reason more than age. image

Have fun with your 33 then.  It should not take long to advance.  Since it can be all instanced all the way up.  Then the only advice I have is make sure your group is built right off the bat.  Do not enter an instance without the normal group build or else you will waste your valuable time.
