The developers over at Star Wars: Galaxies, have released a brand new "Community Update". This update keeps players up-to-date on what's going on in the game, both from an in-game perspective and a behind-the-scenes perspective. Beow, you will find a sample. Greetings! There has been a lot going on so it's time for another community update! Future Content Discussion Lead Expansion Designer Space Rancor posted a thread to talk to the community about Future Content Discussion . It's been a really hot thread with some great ideas and feedback. Be sure to read all the interesting ideas and post your own! Attack of the Events! Player Events are always great places to meet new people and have a lot of fun in Galaxies. Be sure to check out the schedule on the latest events! Still not going back.
More carot and stick.. Gee lets fall for it again. I have a great idea, fix the bugs first. Anything you create at this point will only have more bugs and need to be fixed again.
So just fix the game you have...... You know why I do not feal sorry for the people still playing this game? Becasue they are enabling SONY to do this to them. It is time to say enough is enough, and leave the game.
Why are you rewarding SONY for there horrable work, horrabel game, horrable customer service, horrable everything? WHY!
I can't even fanthom how many threads had insanely original and awesome ideas that went unnoticed expansion after expansion, patch after patch.
wow, they really seem to be attacking thunderheart in that thread.
Well I sometimes wonder if Thunderheart is even a real person anymore... but he is doing the same thing he has been doing for 2 years now. Saying nothing of substance, and if it is of substance he will repeat it 18 more times over the next few weeks.
Hmm... yeah... like trying to sell bug fixes and features that should have been there to begin with as new and exciting content is going to bring anyone back. Poor attempt at damage control. That's all it is. Move along citizen, move along.

You know how to tell when TH is lieing? The post has his name on it.
Seriously. Look at their history with these changes, and look at his posts leading up to them.
It must be hard to have to leave your honesty and integrity hanging on a hook when you walk into the office. His whole job is supposed to be to honestly communicate with the customer, but time after time after time, he's done nothing but lie and deny.
If he said it was daylight outside, I'd go check before I believed him, or anybody from SOE for that matter.
I do not envy TH's job, but he's their PR man, and as one he has done a horrible job.

Thats the blog of a guy who used to have what was essentially the same job as TH's. It details some similar problems he had with the development team that was developing the most popular third party mod for half-life at the time.
My favorite part is this out of his writings:
"So the big picture tip is, be realistic and focus your PR efforts on the areas that will yield you the most positive results. An interview with a Fan Site can produce more inter-community PR that generates good will than several weeks spent trying to convince a publication that there was still value in publishing information about your 2-3 year old game."
Thats the problem, SOE seems to be very anti-community. The community that supports their game is totally not involved with the making of the game.
The first question they should have asked before the CU and NGE people left was this: how do we get those players back, then once you get the system that will bring old players back, then ask how do you get new players into the game?
SOE just decided screw the old players, lets see how many new players we can get into this game.
When is the Player base gonna learn ??? They tell you what a great NEW expansion they have planned and then procede to ASK you what you want to see ???
They NEVER even once mention what THEY are going to give you .... it is all Vague - non-commital - Possible going to go this way --- yada yada yada (my fav saying now)
Like the others have said -- FIX WHAT YOU HAVE - MAKE the game FUN once again - I WILL NEVER go back to SWG ever .... YOU got my money for way to long - promise after Broken promise of FIXING BROKEN Class skills .... After 4 overhauls / patches / Tune ups - all you ever did was NERF __ NERF __ NERF every single FUN part of EVERY Class you started out with ....
Then You went after CRAFTING - HARVESTING - Nothing was sacred to you - NERF NERF NERF - HAD I the power to rename you guys I would Hang the title of NERF's all over you ....
Rant off -- I still hate that I waited so long to leave that game ...
Look to the stars to know HE is with us. HE hung them as markers, of times and of seasons.

Its bad when you truly love Star Wars and would rather do nothing than play their version of it. I do miss my friends from the cantina.
